Learning to swim is one of the
most important skills a person
can develop, especially in our
area with lots of pools, lakes,
rivers, and beaches. Come and be
a part of the learning and fun at
our pool—whether you are taking
lessons, having a birthday party,
or just enjoying the water during
the hot summer days. It’s time
well spent for the entire family.

Swim Lessons
Pool Parties
Learn one of the most important life saving skills in
the only indoor pool in Darlington County. All
classes are taught by trained and certified
instructors and a low teacher/student ratio is
maintained.
Let us make your child’s birthday or team party a
special event. Lifeguards will be provided to ensure
a safe and fun experience for all.

Swimsuit and towel are required for all classes.
Pool Rules
*Parents must get in the pool for Waterbabies.
The indoor pool is a 25-yard, junior-Olympic pool
operating on a changing schedule; get a current
schedule at the Front Desk.
Private Swim Lessons
Sign up for private swim lessons at the front desk.
The instructor will contact you to schedule lessons
based on your schedule. Private lessons are for
adults and children. Ongoing.
The spa on the pool deck should only be used for
15 minutes at a time. Spa use by children should be
carefully monitored and it is strongly recommended
that children under 5 not use the spa.
Cost per private lesson:
$15 members/$30 potential
members
Proper bathing suits are required in the pool and
spa; street clothing is not allowed. Band-aids, small
hair clips, and rubber bands are also not allowed.
Purchase 5 lessons:
$75 members/$150 potential
members
Children under 10 years of age must be
accompanied by an adult when in the pool area.
Children ages 10 to 12 must pass a swim test to
swim in the deep end if unaccompanied by an adult.

Children who are not potty trained must wear a
swim diaper.
Hammerheads Swim Team
There is no better place to be a part of a team and yet
grow as an individual. Our swim team focuses on
stroke development and beating your own fastest
time, not other children. Our seasons involve meets in
South Carolina, but swimmers only need to participate
in 2 meets to qualify for the state meet. To participate
on swim team, all swimmers must schedule a time with
the coach to determine readiness.
Water Aerobics
5-18 years of age
Looking for a workout that is gentle on your joints
but a great cardio workout? Come try water aerobics
in our heated pool. FREE with membership.

Lap Swim
All swim team participants must be members of the
Hartsville YMCA
*Please plan on additional team costs for team suits,
swim caps, and goggles
