The following conditions will apply only to Bid No: RLM/MM/0035/2014/15 – Design, Build and Operation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Component for the Rustenburg Rapid Transport (RRT) Network in respect of Electrical and Telecom Cable Products: • Only locally produced or locally manufactured
cables with a stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered • The exchange rate to be used for the calculation of local production and content
must be the exchange rate published by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) at 12:00 on the date of advertisement of the bid • Only the South African Bureau of Standards
(SABS) approved technical specification number: SATS 1286:2011 must be used to calculate local content.
Sealed documents marked as per above reference and description, must be placed in the bid box situated in the foyer of the Municipal Offices, Missionary Mpheni
House, corner Nelson Mandela and Beyers Naude Drives, Rustenburg by no later than the prescribed closing date, whereafter the bids will be opened in public in the Municipal Offices.
Bids may also be posted to the Directorate: Budget and Treasury, PO Box 550, Rustenburg 0300 before the above-mentioned date and time. The Municipality will not accept any bid
received late.
Please note that no bid documents will be given to couriers unless the courier company is in possession of a letter on an official letterhead, confirming on behalf of the company
the full details of the specific bid document to be collected, as well as the payment of the full amount payable for bid required.
All bids will be evaluated in accordance with the Supply Chain Policy of the Rustenburg Local Municipality, PPPFA and other related legislation. Bids will remain valid for 90 days.
An updated record of payment of rates, taxes and services to the relevant municipality for director/s and the company must be attached. Failure to do so will invalidate the bid
submitted.
The lowest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted and the Municipality reserves the right to accept the whole or part of any bid. The Municipality reserves the right to increase
or decrease quantities as indicated in the technical specifications.
Bid documents must include certified B-BBEE Status Level of Contributors from verified and accredited agencies.

Rustenburg – In the aftermath of the five-month long
strike in the area and with many families still in dire straits,
the local golf club will for the first time be hosting a musical event in aid of and conjunction with the Help-Net
Foundation.
Singers Juanita du Plessis, Willem Botha, Charlize Berg,
JakkieLouw and Monique have lined up stunning musical
acts for Saturday, 18 October from 14:00 to 21:00 at the
Rustenburg Golf Club. Ticket prices are R120 for adults,
R80 for high school and R60 for primary school pupils.
The Help-Net Foundation is a non-profit organisation focusing on the care and rehabilitation of abused, neglected
and abandoned children which supports places of safety
countrywide, and director Jaco Meintjies said caring for
the community is at the heart of the event and the artists
are as excited as they are to give back through such a
dynamic platform.
Louis Swart, vice-president of the club, said,“This is a day
for the entire family to enjoy a celebration for the local
community and an opportunity to give back. Preparations
