FILM COMMISSION RAISES $6,791 in 2 Hours!
The Chamber’s Film Commissioners are overjoyed with the success
of their Silent Auction, held during the 75th Annual Awards Dinner last
month. 216 dinner participants had an opportunity to bid on terrific
items during the cocktail hour up to the ending time set before presentation of the annual awards. After the awards presentation were
made (see photo’s & awards list on back of newsletter ), chamber staff
tallied the bids, and the total amount of $6,791 dollars was announced.
This money assists the commission in their program of work, which
takes care of all expenses incurred from AFCI Membership, Trade
Show Booth participation, inquiry packets, photo library, and staff time
associated with the commission programs. Last month, filming took
place at the historic Vulture Mine, with the feature movie
“Redemption” completing their year-long production. A Ford
Commercial for this month is still pending, and a network television
show production in March is pending. During Gold Rush Days,
“Southwest Adventures”, PBS Series from Nevada will film activities,
visit Rancho de los Caballeros, Kay El Bar Ranch, and the Desert
Caballeros Western Museum. The new series will debut in Nevada
later this month. Coming-up – Arizona Highways Television coming
back to Wickenburg this year! The commission will be representing
our community at Locations Expo in Santa Monica, California in April.
During the Academy Awards, the movie TransAmerica with Golden
Globe winning actress Felicity Huffman,
