Breaking News - Wickenburg Art Club
Wickenburg Art Club E-Blast Date: July 27, 2015 Breaking News West of Center Opening Reception On the day of transporting all the artwork, WAC volunteers were treated to a beautiful breakfast at Nana’s by Susan Moehring. The work went quickly, and the results were remarkable. Wow! This year’s Exhibition is really impressive! The wonderful lighting on the 2-D and 3-D artworks made everything stand out in all its glory. Best of all, one of the first visitors to the show bought a painting! Wickenburg Realtor Cindy Logan said one look was all it took, and she immediately bought a Bonnie Casey painting. So far, there have been TWO sales, and the Exhibition is still very young! There are 58 2-D paintings in the show, and 14 3-D entries. This year, our gourd artists, Chickie Harristhal, Betty Pyeatt and Danielle Selby, outdid themselves in beautiful works. Arija Powell contributed two clay statues, Bill Strickler is showing two of his exquisite carvings, and Don Vance has two of his wood turnings in the show. Seeing our WAC art displayed so well is really exciting! And the Wickenburg Sun sent a reporter to cover the opening reception, too. We had lots of visitors who were impressed with the high level of art our members contributed. Our WAC member Gleneen Ross did a superior job once again on the food and food tables. Her selection of china and accessories was as beautiful as the food. This Saturday, August 1st, Susan Moehring will present our first Demonstration. Be sure to stop by and say hello! WAC Member Artist demonstrations will be from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center and are free. With so many talented local artists at the Wickenburg Art Club, Desert Caballeros Western Museum is proud to present the 4th Annual West of Center exhibition and sale this fall. Come see beautiful original artworks, discover unique creative processes, and find out about the ample opportunities for budding artists of all ages to be involved with Wickenburg Art Club. From the Photography Group – On Saturday, 7/18, members of the Photography Group performed some community service work by shooting publicity photos for the Soroptimist's Thrift Store here in Wickenburg. Photos were taken of the building, the merchandise, the employees, and volunteers. It was quite fun and the photographers enjoyed posing the workers with some of the inventory and got a chance to find beauty in all the cool items for Above – a sample of the photos taken To left – June White and the Soroptomist representative getting ready for the photo shoot. sale. 7/20/15 – from CJ Betancourt – Good news- Freddie passed his certification test with flying colors today.
