A Survival Story: Harlem
As I begin to write this letter all I can
think of is how amazing our first
year in the new facility has been!
Since the move to Huntley, AHS
is averaging over 150 dogs and
cats placed in loving homes
each month!
Harlem is an 8 month old Huskie/Sheltie mix who is spunky and
playful in spite of
all
he
has
been
through.
Abandoned as a
pup, he suffered a
horrific break in
his right back leg.
He must have been
in incredible pain
as the bones
healed slowly and
incorrectly, over
time. When AHS
Harlem rescued him, he
also suffered from pneumonia. Now he is getting the medical
attention he needs to cure the pneumonia. Then he will see a
specialist who will surgically re-break and plate his injured leg.
Harlem will soon get a chance to run, play and find a loving family!
We are growing but we will never lose
sight of what makes us effective and
unique. AHS rescues dogs and cats
who, through no fault of their own, are
frequently awaiting death at kill
shelters. We hold the physical and
emotional care of each individual
animal at AHS to be paramount. And
when we place a pet we do everything
in our power to make sure that his new
home is his permanent one. For every
fortunate animal placed, AHS will be
back to rescue another facing an
untimely death.
I am enormously grateful to our
dedicated staff, volunteers,
members and sponsors for
making it all possible. What a
joyous and rewarding journey
it continues to be!
Thank you!!

Abused and Mistreated Puppies Slowly Learning to Trust
Not all the animals at AHS are
finding their forever homes.
Some are not getting adopted
because they have been so
mistreated that they are too
afraid to even go near their
prospective families.
Cosby & Bennie
Cosby & Bennie came in to our
shelter at 12 weeks old and
would literally urinate and
defecate with any human
touch! We can’t imagine what kind of abuse they must have
endured to be that fearful. It has taken a long time, 8 months old
now, but with a lot of love and patience
they are starting to trust humans.
Gilligan
Eight chow pups were an animal
control rescue from an outdoor pen
with no food or water. Brought to us at
10 weeks old, they are 1 year now and
we still have not found homes for them.
It takes time for them to trust people so
they do not show well for adoptions.
HAPPY TAILS!
Chachi
Jasmine
Cha Chi, now Chachi (as on "Happy Days") is the most charming
little guy! He was scared of
almost everything when we
brought him home in October, but
since then he's become a
confident, happy little dog. We
sent him to training "camp" and
attend refresher classes twice per
month -- he's fast to learn new
tricks.
We adopted Jasmine, the 2 year old white Am Staff/lab mix on
July 3rd 2006. She is
the BEST little girl
anyone could ask for!!
She totally fits into our
family and she is just a
pleasure
to
have
around friends and
visitors. We love her so
much and just wanted
to let you all know she
is doing just fine. She
has a huge backyard to
run and play in and she is so smart and affectionate. Here are
some photos of her first
trip to the dog beach
this month. She is all
smiles!!
Chachi does well with my kitties
and fits in perfectly with my
extended family's pooches too. We're very happy to spread the
word about where we found our mutt. Thanks for taking care of
Chachi and bringing him in from Ohio so that we could find him
and adopt him from your shelter.
Wendy & James Miller
Gigi
Gigi was taken to the vet for her 72 hour check-up and she’s in
very good condition.
We thank YOU guys for
that! Her first weekend
went very well. She is
a good girl and is
housebroken without
one single mishap.
That is remarkable. She
is one smart dog.
Again, we both thank
you for the joy.
James & Marklyn Pierre
Sweetie aka Presley
We had been looking for a little lap puppy for nearly a year
when we heard about petfinder.com. I went on and saw a lot of
cute puppies, but none were right for us until
we saw a puppy named Presley at Animal
House Shelter. I called, but found out he had
just been adopted. So we kept looking. About
three weeks later we decided to drive out to
AHS to see what they had. When we got there,
we saw Presley! He was just returned because
he didn't fit in with his family. We sat and
played with him and then another couple came
in to see Presley. We asked if we could adopt
him then and there.
They said because we
were there first, we
could! We took him
home and renamed him Sweetie. He
was a perfect fit. It's been two years,
and he is the best thing that ever
happened to us!

Thank you so much for
your help in finding our
newest family member.
She is soooo happy and
so are we!!!
Natane Blazquez
Little Orphans Find a Home
Joey and Cooper had a rocky start in life. Their mother died
when they were only 2 weeks old and they were sick with the
same upper respiratory infection. Fortunately, AHS got them into
a foster home where they recovered and thrived. Now they have
adjusted to life with our lab mix, Annie, and siamese, Jack, like
they were always a part of the family. In fact, I can’t imagine our
home without them! Thank you AHS for saving these sweet
boys!
Ashley Koreman
Baxter aka Gerbil
Hank
When we first meet our
little guy Baxter at AHS,
he was as shy as they
come. We brought him
home and he stayed in
the corner of the family
room unless we picked
him up to bring him
somewhere. He has
made a complete
turnaround since then;
he runs around like he's
possessed and basically
runs the house. We
wouldn't have it any
other way. We love him
so much and look
forward to years of companionship. He needs a buddy so I think
we'll be coming back to AHS soon.
We just got your Fuzz Buzz newsletter
and wanted to give you an update on
Hank, the Olde English Bulldog. It has
been a couple of years now and he is
doing great! Since you rescued him
from the streets of Chicago, we couldn’t
have imagined how great he would be!
Hank is the best dog in the world. Five
kids in the house and
he is sooo patient and
loving!! Thank you
and congratulations
on the new facility.
Adam Hagg
Lola aka Coco
Rex aka Randolph
Lola is a smart and fun
loving girl who was top of
her class in her level 1 &
2 obedience classes. She
loves everyone, and kids
are her favorites!! She is
getting tons of love and
attention and is spoiled
just a bit. Lola has her
own drawer at my house
with all of her different
collars. She loves to get
dressed up and told she is
pretty. She gets to play with her friends everyday, no matter if
they are little or big, she plays with them all. Everyone in my
neighborhood loves Lola and wishes they could have a dog just
like her! Even though she looks like a tough girl she will curl up
in your lap and lick you to death! I just want to say thanks again
for bringing her into my life!!
Congrats on your new facility! Back in January (can't believe
it's almost been a year), we adopted Randolph. His name is
now Rex and I just wanted to thank everyone there for taking
such good care of him
while he was there! He is
the greatest dog - EVER.
He gets along with our
little Rosie and even
though he is bigger, she
still puts him in his place.
They play like they have
been together forever. Here is a picture of the two of them after
a strenuous play session. Again, I just wanted to say thanks!

Shiloh
It has been over a year since we adopted
Shiloh in September 2005. He has been
a wonderful addition to our family. The
moment we saw him at AHS it was love
at first sight for us. We can’t thank you
enough for allowing us to give him a
loving home. He has us all wrapped
around his paw. He is playful, welltrained, loving, protective, a good
watchdog, and what a personality! We
couldn’t ask for a better dog and hope to
have him around for many years to
come. Thank you for the joy and
laughter.

HAPPY TAILS!
Sydney aka Simone
Princess aka Buttons
I was on your website looking back at all of the dogs and
puppies that have been adopted. It is amazing!! I clicked into
July 2004 to find my AHS puppy. Her name was Simone and I
renamed her Sydney. She is doing great, more spoiled than ever!
Thanks again for the awesome puppy.
Thank you for giving us the chance to make a new and better life
for this little maltese poodle. She is very happy and doesn’t
shake anymore. She will never be scared of her owner ever
again. She is treated like royalty in our house and has gained 2
lbs. since we’ve had her -- she is eating very well! Princess has
made my daughter very happy. I hope you can make make other
families as happy with their pets as we are with ours. Maybe we
will meet again to get Princess a friend! Again, thank you.

The Michel Family
Guinness aka Dolly
Sierra aka Tamara
We just wanted to let you
know we are THRILLED
with our new, little,
pupper-girl, Sierra. We
adopted her last night
after she won us over
with her beautiful eyes
and personality. She’s got
a new collar with her
name tag, new chewtoys, and a comfy crate
to retire into. We were
shocked and amazed
that this little one climbed right into her crate and settle in
without us even saying anything to her (this was, of course, after
a Labby spaz-out through our hallways!) She made poops and
peeps OUTSIDE last night and this morning, and we suspect she
might already be housebroken. Thanks for connecting us with
our new pack member. We can’t wait to take her with us during
our adventures. Thank you, again!
Rebecca and Rich
Scooter
In July I adopted a dog
(ShibaInu/Chow Mix). He has
been an excellent dog, except
for the chewing department.
Other than that he has been
GREAT! Thank you for letting
me adopt Scooter.

A little over a month ago
we adopted Dolly from
AHS. We have changed
her name to Guinness
and she is doing very,
very well. Guinness has
become a part of family,
LOVES her doggie play
toys and is so much fun to
be around. One of her
many resting areas is on
the bed or couch and
here is a photo of her
smiling. Thank you for all
the work you do with
these wonderful animals.
Dave Lamken
Oliver aka Mufasa
I am a volunteer at the AHS and a few months ago I adopted
Mufasa (new name is Oliver). He is so happy in his new home.
He helps my daughter with her computer homework. Actually I
think they are on My Space. He helps me put away the
groceries. Oliver has a new big brother named Bug who has
welcomed Oliver into our
home with open paws. They
love to chase and wrestle each
other. Sometimes, to Oliver’s
reluctance, Bug insists he get
a cat bath. We are so happy to
have Oliver in our home. This
will be his first Christmas. I
wonder how long the
ornaments will be on the tree.

Cindy
Cindy is a small, 8 year old
Cocker Spaniel mix who is
losing her vision. She is very
quiet and sweet and is most
content to just sleep at your
feet. She would like a calm
place to be loved and to live
out the many years she has left.
Pretzel
★
Pretzel is about 10 years old
with only one eye. He has
severe dental disease but a
grade 3 heart murmur is
preventing us from being able
to perform the dental he
needs. He is an affectionate
guy but will need lots of care.
Three Little Lives Cast Aside
Harlem
Tramp
Katrina
Harlem is an 8 month
old Huskie/Sheltie mix
who was rescued with
pneumonia and a badly
healed broken leg. He is
being medicated in
hopes he will be healthy
enough for the necessary
surgery to fix his leg. (See
story on page 1)
Tramp is a 1 year old
boxer/ Am Staff Terrier
mix who was rescued
starving and in horrible
shape. He has been
treated twice for an
extremely bad case of
heartworm and had to
have leg surgery. (See
story on page 16)
3 year old female Am
Staff Terrier. Rescued
from New Orleans with
no food or water, she was
scared but happy to be
saved. AHS staff is
working with her every
day to regain her trust.
She has been through so
much.
Kessel
Ben
Jack
Kessel is a sweet, 3 year
old, lap kitty who has
tested FeLV positive. She
actually cries for human
attention! Kessel is not
showing any symptoms
of the disease, but she
needs a home with no
cats or another feline
leukemia positive cat.
Ben absolutely ADORES
people! He is 5 years old
with FIV (Feline Immune
Deficiency) showing no
symptoms. He prefers
petting to playing and
would sit in a lap all day
if he could. He is waiting
for the person with
another FIV cat or no
other cats in their home.
Jack is only 2 but must
have seen his share of
street fights. He is the
only cat to be banished
from the AHS adoption
room, twice! He likes the
company of people and is
very healthy & playful,
but now has to live in a
cage. He needs a home
with no other cats.
They must have known love at one time in their lives because
they are still so loving after all they’ve endured.
Their owner passed away in
August of 2005 and her body
wasn’t discovered for several
weeks. Her mother and sister
came to clean the apartment
and take care of the cats, but a
month later they abruptly left,
closing the curtains and blinds.
They were gone for two weeks
when a caring neighbor alerted
the landlord to meowing in the
empty apartment. The three Moonbeam
little cats had been left starving a second time. They were then
moved to the landlord’s home for about four months and,
inconceivably, abandoned again with no food or water! The
good neighbor had been looking in on them and could stand it
no longer. He rescued and cared for them until AHS could take
them in October 16. They were all sick, malnourished, matted
and scared. Moonbeam, the eldest, even refused to eat when she
was separated from Leonardo for a few days. Incredibly, they
have all regained their trust in people and now deserve to find
their permanent, loving home.
(NOTE: Their rescuer, Bob, continues to visit them often and has
become one of our dedicated cat room volunteers!)

Update:
Bambi Recovering with Your Help!
Bambi came through her second knee surgery and doesn’t have to be carried
outside anymore! Thank you to all who sponsored her and donated to AHS. Now,
after all she has been through, she needs a forever home where she can romp, play
and be loved.
With your help we can give them the long-term
care & medical help that they so urgently need!

CAT HABITAT AT AHS
No Housing Slump in The Cat Adoption Room!
The cat population at AHS has been booming. There are now a record 70 cats in the habitat. To meet the housing needs a new Victorian
has gone up on the north wall and a Coach House nearby is under construction! A log cabin is also in the planning stage for the west
wall between the windows. Meanwhile, the apartments and tree house are
full to capacity. Storm, our full-figured guy, can usually be found sqeezed
into the smallest compartment. The addition of our new crop of
youngsters has certainly changed the dynamics of the room and kicked the
activity level up another notch. Please feel free to stop in a visit our feline
population while there are still a few open spots on the human benches!

hese five rescued and rehabilitated animals represent
hundreds that need our help! A large number of the animals
we rescue are abused, neglected and in desperate need of
medical attention. Below is Muppet, who came to us looking
more like a discarded lump of rug that had been left out in the
rain. Once AHS staff got through the matted mess we discovered
a sweet, 5 yr old Lhasa Apso. Muppet now resides in a caring
home where he is loved as well as groomed!

he “typical” AHS day begins just before 6 a.m. Every dog is
walked, given a fresh blanket, clean water, and a heaping
bowl of food. The cats greet us at the door asking for their share
of soft food platters, kibble, fresh water and newly laundered
bedding. The room is scrubbed from top to bottom and then its
playtime! Adoptions begin at 11a.m. to 7 p.m. Cat and dog
medicine and treatments are administered throughout the day
and litter boxes are scooped twice more. The work continues
with 4 to 5 walks for each dog, during which staff socializes

given a treat before being put comfortably to bed just after 7pm.

Thank You for Your Help!
Pit Bulls: A Victimized Breed
“Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things,
man will not himself find peace.” -- Albert Schweitzer
P
it Bulls are probably the most abused dogs on earth. The
breed suffers horribly at the hand of humans. In the face
of cries for banning of this breed, the dogs--very real victims-are often completely overlooked.
Dog fighting is the number one abuse towards animals in
Chicago and other urban areas. It is the very qualities
thatmake the Pit Bull an outstanding pet - intelligence,
loyalty, courage, trainability - that attract that criminal
element to the breed and make it the most commonly
victimized. These dogs are trained by shockingly brutal
methods to fight other dogs to the death and to protect their
owners during drug deals.
Bernie’s Second Chance
Bernie is a 4 year old Bulldog/Am Staff Terrier just rescued by AHS. Before he
came to us he endured the most inhumane, brutal existance. Bernie had been
used as bait! His teeth have been filed all the way down so he could not
defend himself when attacked by another dog. His ears have been cropped
“home job,” meaning someone cut them all the way down to his head,
probably with no pain medication. He has old bite wounds all over his face
and body. In spite of the reprehensible
treatment and pain he suffered at the
hands of his owner Bernie still adores
people and even likes other dogs! He
loves stuffed animals and belly rubs. To
to sit in your lap is pure joy. Bernie has
his second chance, away from the hurt,
now he needs a loving home! Animal
House Shelter, Inc. needs your support!
It is estimated that there are 60,000 Pit Bulls in the City of
Chicago alone. This number is so high because the wrong
people are breeding them for the wrong reasons. It is
estimated that 95% of these dogs are living in hostile
surroundings and yet, it is an amazing testimony to the breed
that we rarely hear of any problems. When we occasionally
do however, the cries go out to ban the breed. What will it
take to make people realize that the owners need to be held
accountable?
In New Mexico, there exists a Dangerous Dogs Act which is
not breed-specific and requires that aggressive dogs be
licensed and properly contained by owners. It also mandates
that dogs not be chained for prolonged periods of time. If the
owner fails to comply, he can be charged with a third- or
fourth-degree felony. This punishes the owner not the dog.
There is no quick fix for this issue just as there is no quick fix
for the abuse of this breed. But there are so many things we
can all do to help. First and foremost is NOT to punish the
responsible Pit Bull owners. Criminals are already breaking
the law by fighting dogs, so having an "illegal breed" may
indeed be attractive to them and might make them want to
breed and sell more "illegal dogs". If their dog is confiscated
and killed, they really don't care. They will just get another
one because breed bans punish the dog, not the owner. We
also need to be advocates for the Pit Bulls to educate those
who are misinformed about their true nature.

For the Love of an Older Companion
"I can't think of anything that brings me closer to tears than when my old dog -completely exhausted after a hard day in the field -- limps away from her nice spot in front
of the fire and comes over to where I'm sitting and puts
her head in my lap, a paw over my knee, and closes her
eyes and goes back to sleep. I don't know what I've
done to deserve that kind of friend." -- Gene Hill

lease consider adopting one of our older or long-term
residents. There are many advantages to bringing a
senior pet into your home. Older dogs are housetrained
and usually have learned what “no” means. Older cats
have mellowed. If the potential adopter works outside the
home or is frequently
away, an older cat may
adapt to their home
much more comfortably
than a kitten. Senior pets
can be good for seniors
as they are calmer and a
better fit for someone
without the stamina to
keep up with younger,
more energetic animals.
Sheba - 8 years
Older cats and dogs are
very loving once they get settled in their new homes. They
are grateful for the second chance they have been given.
With all the wonderful qualities that older dogs and cats
have, it is unfortunate that they are sometimes
overlooked. Often they can be just the right fit for families
or individuals. Take a moment to ponder the possibilities
of an older dog or cat before you rush to see the puppies
and kittens. You may be surprised what you find and who
finds you!
Senior to Senior Program
A
nimal House has put in place a
new program to help our adult
pets find their forever homes. It is
available to anyone over the age of
50 who adopts a dog or cat over the
age of 5. The adoption fee is 25%
off the animal’s posted fee on the
website: animalhouseshelter.com.
The older dog or cat may have a
little grey in his fur or display a
calmer demeaner but his capacity
for loyalty and love hasn’t
diminished in the least. The golden
years with your pet can be a time to
cherish. Please consider this
wonderful opportunity if you are
over 50 and would like to share
your home with a grateful and
loving companion.

HAPPY TAILS!
Tiger aka James
Freckles
Thought you’d like an update on one
of your cats whom we adopted back
in June ’06, “James,” who now goes
by “Tiger” (or nicknames like “Mao,”
“Elian,” and “Fidel” as events dictate).
Having doubled in size (!), he has
now happily taken over his new
home on the northwest side of
Chicago, and is pictured here with his
human daddy. We can’t get over how
beautiful, playful and good-natured
he is. He does, however, enjoy
waking up early (5:30AM) and has been known to bat his kibble
around the kitchen floor when bored. But we love him just the
same! Thanks again and best
wishes.
Kathy and Dwight
Freckles just wanted to say "Hi ". It's been 14 months in the new
home. She is a wonderful, warm and loving dog w ho is enjoying
her second puppyhood. She loves and trusts the entire family
and guards over
us. She has no
cage, her home is
ours. She loves to
go for long walks
although she is still
skittish of strangers
and loud noises.
Freckles and our
yellow lab Natasha
have a wonderful
relationship. They look out for one another and play. Our three
boys dote over her constantly. I just wanted you to know what a
loving and beautiful dog Freckles has become.

Ernie aka Floofey
(and Tiger)
Boston
Just wanted you to see how Boston is adjusting to his new home.
He's really an amazing dog! We've had
absolutely no problems at all with him. He
got to go to Petsmart and pick out toys and
treats. He's been going for lots of walks
and meeting new people. He's so friendly,
everyone just falls in love with him.
Someone even asked us at a stop light if
they could buy him, lol. He loves my bed,
and he cuddles up like a baby at night. He
sleeps all through the night, hasn't chewed
or had an accident, and eats a cup of
food twice a day. He even took a
bath! Thank you so much for taking
such good care of him, and for all the
work you do for all the animals. As
soon as I get some school things
taken care of, I will be making
donations to your organization.
Connie Straube
Sophie aka Marcy
Thank you for taking care of Gordy and
suggesting him to me. He gets plenty of love
and everyone he meets just loves him. My
parents dog quickly became his best friend.
She has been waiting for Gordy for a long
time. He was a little shaky about driving in
cars but now that he knows he gets to meet
people he likes it. Thank you for him!
We adopted Sophie from your
shelter just a few days before
Christmas 2005. All I can
say is we couldn't have
received a better present!
From the moment she first
jumped in to the cab of our
truck to come home with us
and begin her new life, she
has been one of the family.
She is sweet, funny, loving,
and more than we could have
hoped for. We've nicknamed
her Mona because everytime
she lays down, she lets out a
very long and multi-toned moan. To this day, it still makes us
laugh. She came through obedience class with flying colors.
She has a very healthy appetite and is even somewhat of a
vegetarian as she likes snap peas, tomatoes and watermelon!
Of course, being part Labrador she loves the water. She's not
much for fetch, but loves her stuffed animals, squeak toy and
chew bones. Thank you so much for saving her life so that she
could become such a big part of ours.

Ernie loves the farm but is
never left outside alone. In
fact, I'm in the process of
leash-training him. Either
Walt or I are with him
outside at all times. He's
having a ball! Thank you for
posting his picture on your
website or I would never
have known this puppy treasure was available!

Petula aka Nayla
Just wanted you to see
Tucker now. He is so
cute and well behaved.

We Love Archie!
He is doing great!! Hope
you like the photos.
Congratulations on completing the new facility! We wanted to
send a quick "thank you!" for the little girl, then named Nayla,
we adopted in April! She has since been renamed to Petula. Tula
has been a wonderful addition to our family, and got adjusted to
her new home (and
brother) very quickly.
(Petula on right with
brother Bruno) The
staff at your shelter
was friendly, helpful
and concerned for
every animal there. I
have recommended
AHS to anyone
looking to add a new
furry member to their
family! Thanks again!

Winston aka Gumbo
Tracy ,Eden, Millie & Archie
Simon
It has been about 8 months since we adopted Simon, but it feels
like we’ve had him forever! He’s been such a fun addition to
our family. He’s very entertaining, loves to ride in the car, play
tug of war, and RUN! He has
girlfriends to play with all over
the neighborhood. He has
even made friends with the Jack
Russell next door, who usually
doesn’t get along with other
dogs. It’s always interesting to
see who will tire-out first;
Simon or my daughter (Simon
typically lasts longest). Thank
you for letting us adopt him.
Joy Mollenkamp
I just wanted to drop you all a quick note to say how great my
new home is! My humans came all the way from Detroit back
in August to pick me up after seeing me on petfinder. I was
originally named Gumbo, but my humans have changed my
name to Winston . . . I think that I like Winston a little bit better.
When I first came home with them I
was sure scared and pretty stressed
out . . . so much so that I actually got
kennel cough which turned into
pneumonia! But my humans took
really good care of me and now I’m
feeling great! I’ve gained over 13
pounds since I’ve been here and I’ve
learned to sit, down, come, stay,
shake,
g i v e
h i g h
five, turn around, and chase
squirrels! I’m having so much fun
here and I have lots of friends too!
Gotta go! There’s a squirrel in the
yard that needs to be chased! I
hope that everyone back in Illinois is
doing great! Sniff’s and Kisses!
Winston
Dudley
Matt & I adopted Dudley, a 1-year old Golden Retriever/Brittany
mix in August 2005. He has been the joy of our lives! Dudley
has put on a healthy 12 pounds, and we have been repeatedly
told that he is the most affectionate dog our friends have ever
met. He loves going camping and to Lake Huron. He plays with
doggie toys, but holds a special place in his heart for sticks. He
is fascinated by our two cats and loves to play with other dogs.
Dudley is very loved and loves us back with all he's got! Thanks
so much!
Deb and Matt Pendell (and of course, Dudley!)

Lady & Tramp: Not a Disney Tale
T
hese two horribly emaciated, starving pit bulls were found
near a highway in Kansas City by an elderly gentleman. As he
approached he saw that the male had been eating a dead bird on
the side of the road. The female was so weak that she wobbled
when she tried to come over to him. He had to carry both of
them to his truck.
This wonderful man,
whose name is Foe,
took them straight to
his vet, where it was
determined that they
were both in quite
serious condition.
The female was so
weak
that
she
couldn’t even walk
up one step. Her
ears were very flystruck and she had a
Lady nasty wound on the
top of her head.
These photos were taken a week after their rescue -imagine how they looked they day they arrived!
There is no way to
know if it was a result of abuse. The male was heartworm positive
but much too weak to begin treatment.
Foe named them Lady and Tramp and paid for their care until an
independent rescuer, who shared the same vet, contacted AHS
after no one could take them in Missouri or Kansas. Of course, we
said “Yes,” and the two were transported to Huntley.
Tramp had such a severe case of heartworm that he had to be
treated twice, at a cost of $600. Then he needed his torn cruciate
ligament and floating patella surgically repaired, costing $1,500.
He still needs other dog socialization but absolutely loves people.
Lady has responded beautifully and is a sweet girl with both dogs
and people. And to Foe -- we thank you for your act of kindness!
Lady has healed
Tramp, who loves to eat!
