AS THE BARBI TWINS, we each earned our seven
and a half minutes of fame as celebrity modelsturned-health authors. Now we simply devote
ourselves to animal causes through our organization, the Kitty Liberation Front (KLF). We are
vegan, anti-fur, anti-zoos, anti-vivisection—just
plain anti-animal exploitation. However, we are
not your typical “animal activists” because we
also oppose most animal rights organizations, including PETA, since they profit off the problems
of the animals they are sworn to rescue, and
they frequently act in ways that are not in accord
with their own stated philosophies. We are also
anti-hypocrite.
In our research we found two types of animal
organizations. On the one side you have the big
“Enron” animal organizations that practice a
macabre “Sophie’s Choice,” deciding which
animals should be saved and which animals
should be killed. This “management by death”
is a method used by The Humane Society and
PETA, which we believe stands for “People
Euthanizing Terrific Animals” (not least because
of their numerous felony counts in 2005 for killing adoptable puppies and kittens).
The other type of animal organization is the
“old school” shelter that profits off the murders
of discarded animals. Or the shelters that are
dumping grounds for hoarders—persons or
organizations that compulsively collect animals
while ignoring their care. We noticed that animal rescuers and bulimics—like ourselves—can
share the same mental illness. This includes
symptoms such as control, god complex, victimization and so forth. We recoined the word rescue to rescuism as a way of describing angry animal fanatics who, losing their focus, get a cult-

It is ironic that while America is fighting for

Other so-called terrorists include the SHAC
7—American animal rights activists guilty of
nothing more than posting the addresses of medical researchers on Web sites. They were prosecuted and sent to jail in 2006 for doing what Ann
Coulter and David Horowitz (two right-wingers)
have been doing all along—posting private information for purposes of harassment. The only
difference between Coulter and Horowitz and
the SHAC 7 is that laws have been passed specifically targeting animal rights activists. Is that fair?
“democracy” in Iraq, we are losing our First
Amendment rights at home because of legislation like the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act
(AETA). This bill makes free speech a very dangerous practice for animal activists, who can be
thrown in jail as terrorists when simply protesting the inhumane treatment of animals. Is this
what America is supposed to stand for? No reasonable person could possibly think so.
However, the only way we are going to change
things for the better is if we all stand together.

not working; as more animals get killed, rescuers
make greater profits.
Our main solution is simply humane education regarding animals. Instead of warehousing
them in shelters, it is best to find foster homes for
rescued pets. Cages are an unnatural environment that make animals stressed. Ninety-five percent of dogs or cats given to shelters are improperly handled. Free clinics would replace costly vet
bills and unnecessary euthanization.
Trap-Neuter-Return is a program that captures cats (in order to spay or neuter them), then
releases them to a natural cat colony. For every $1
spent on spaying/neutering, $10 is saved on the
housing, killing and disposing of animals. The
U.S. spends $4 billion a year (half from the government, half from private organizations), killing
ten times more animals than any other nation.
In this country, killing animals is big business,
whether it’s carried out by corporations or within
the animal community through sellout groups
like PETA and The Humane Society of the
United States. That’s why we stand with the radicals who actively protest the cruel torture of animals—people who risk their freedom in an effort
to expose corporate torture chambers protected
by government conservatives.
Recently we stepped outside the box to
become associate producers on our first feature
movie, Your Mommy Kills Animals. This film
details all sides of animal activism, including the
never-before-exposed corruption—both inside
and outside the movement. Additionally, it offers
an in-depth look at the FBI’s recent declaration
that animal rights activists are the number one
domestic terrorists in the United States. Have
you ever heard of anything so absurd?!
