In April 2005, Broadway Books
(www.broadwaybooks.com), a division of Random
House, will release From Deborah Madison's
Kitchen: Vegetarian Suppers, featuring America's
leading vegetarian chef and author. With over
750,000 books sold to date, Broadway will kick off
a series of four books under the new brand, “From
Deborah Madison's Kitchen”. Reel Food
Entertainment has obtained the option to exploit
this series with a companion WebDVD product that
has the potential to redefine the way book
publishers release print and electronic products
to consumers.
The WebDVD version of From Deborah Madison's
Kitchen: Vegetarian Suppers will address the
common problems with cookbooks while
simultaneously leveraging the marketing and
promotion of the book itself. Simple to use and
chock full of instructional information, Deborah
provides the home cook with her step-by-step
video tips and techniques, lifestyle video segments,
and is supported by a set of interactive tools.
Deborah guides us through the process from raw
materials to initial preparation techniques to
developing finished recipes. She provides an
overview of various food varieties, origins, and tips
on how to best handle and use the ingredients.
The DVD contains over 1000 handpicked,
searchable and printable recipes, complete menus
and weekly planners all selected from Deborah's
vast library of books including her best seller,
"Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone". From the DVDROM section of the disc users will be able to look
into their refrigerator to see what they have in
house and then program the discs database to
recommend suitable recipes. All recipes and
variations chosen can be reconfigured into an
automatic shopping list as well thereby providing
consumers with a new and powerful way to resolve
their displeasure with cookbooks.
A companion website will join the WebDVD and
will offer value added benefits for continuing
communication with owners of the DVD.
