“Philippines’ 5th World Family Doctors Day Celebration”
The Philippine Academy of Family Physicians celebrated world Family Doctor's Day with
various activities conducted by most of its 57 provincial chapters and 53 accredited training
institutions nationwide. These activities included Eucharistic celebration, motorcades, lay fora on
various health topics and medical and surgical missions among others.
In May 16, 2011, President Aquino, by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 168 declared
May 19 of every year as World Family Doctor's day in the Philippines.
