Summer 2016 The Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi Pi Beta Phi Founders’ Day Celebrated on April 22nd Our 2016 Founders’ Day Celebration was glorious as we celebrated 149 years of Pi Beta Phi! It was beautifully chaired by Anne Bradley, Whitney Kielwasser and Carla Swenson. The day began with the Founders’ Day Tribute, presented by twelve darling SMU actives. We then celebrated five very deserving Dallas Alumnae Club Award Recipients: Cara Gravely French, Anne Mewhinney Monning, Jamie McComiskey Moore, Lisa Hughes Reid, and Anna Raines Voss. These ladies selflessly have given their time and talents in extraordinary ways to Pi Phi and our community. We honored three Diamond Arrows: Ruth Collins Altshuler, Mary Jean Johnson Manning, and Lucy Nunn Bryan. We were thrilled to present Ruth Altshuler with her Diamond Arrow, and she regaled us with humorous stories of her college days with Mary Jean Manning. Mary Jean had received her Diamond Arrow earlier, as she was unable to join us that day. Sadly, Lucy Nunn Bryan passed away just a few months earlier, and her Diamond Arrow was accepted by her daughter, Janie Bryan Loveless. The following nine Golden Arrows were celebrated: Nancy Neath Allen, Susan Touchstone Campbell, Bonnie Sears Cox, Sally Grayson Cullum, Bobette DeLay Dunn, Ann Horton Marcus, Ann Ingraham Shillig, Linda Hammontree Svehlak and Jacquelyn Ryan Wynne. We were fortunate to have Paula Shepherd and Mary Tatum, our current and past Grand Presidents, share this very special day with us!
