This trip humbles people and opens their eyes to the world. The country was beautiful. The mountains you can’t even describe. Everything is green. Meeting the people and getting to do the work makes you feel so good. They have practically nothing. But, they are happy. Just with life. Now…they have clean water!” Why Volunteer in Honduras with Pure Water for the World? S The current situation: 98% of families in the Trojes region only have access to contaminated water. Over 50% lack access to sanitation facilities. Waterborne illnesses are widespread. Children miss school. Adults miss work. The cycle of poverty prevails. S You will be a part of the solution. Clean water and hygiene bring change. Your participation will directly impact families, giving them the foundation for a healthier, more prosperous future. S International volunteer experience. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience volunteering abroad, being of service to others, and experiencing another culture and way of life. Trip Highlights: S Spend 3 days installing water filters in homes and piping to get water to schools; S Participate in the administration of anti-­‐parasite medicine to community members; S Visit cultural sites (i.e. cigar factory, coffee mill, tobacco farm); S Learn facts about Honduras and the Honduran culture; S Interact with children and community members. Cost: $1,235 per person, plus airfare to and from Tegucigalpa. Cost excludes souvenirs, alcohol and food at the airport.
