“This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad.” Of all
days during our Church year, this is the holiest. It is on this day that
we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection and our salvation. As Catholics we
are all called to holiness, and today is the day on which we can
respond to that call most enthusiastically.
Jesus is with us today, and He is with us through the Eucharist every
time we go to Mass. As we approach to receive Communion today,
and every time we do so, we need to search our hearts. We must
remember the suffering Jesus endured for us. He shed His blood so
our souls could be spared. We each need to thank the Lord for giving us life and for providing us with the
Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us.
Together we cry out “Alleluia!” St. Peter, in the opening of his first letter, put it this way: “Although you
have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with
an indescribable and glorious joy. (1 Peter 1:8) Christ is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!

We extend to all our regular parishioners, all your
extended family members and friends and to all our
visitors a warm welcome to Blessed Trinity and we
wish and pray that each and every one of you will
enjoy a deep and abiding Faith in the Resurrection of
your Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is Risen,
indeed Alleluia. There is every reason to have full
hope in life that never ends. Accept His Love, His
Forgiveness, and His Invitation to be one with Him in
all your decisions, plans and actions. He wants YOU
to be a vital part of His Kingdom [Church].

THE TITHE
How serious to God is my Church offering??
We visit the prisons weekly. The priests say
Mass each month in different sections of all the
prisons in Lowell.
Two female inmates regularly mail to the
Church here their tithe! You see, in prison, they
have plenty of time to read, study and pray
over the Bible.
These two ladies are convinced they owe God
their tithe even while they are in prison. They
happen to have a source of income and they
give God his portion first. Are they right? Does
God really expect everyone to give Him their
first fruits of their Treasure?
Most all people who take God and His Word
seriously really see this as a no brainer.
How about you?

JOHN BAPTIST DE LA SALLE
St. John Baptist de la Salle is the patron saint of school teachers,
but he could be the patron of catechists and youth ministers, too,
since his emphasis was always on the Christian education of the
youth he served. Born into an aristocratic family, he was ordained
at twenty-seven and was appointed a canon at the Cathedral in
Rheims. Good-looking, wealthy, cultured, and well-educated, it
seemed certain that this young priest was destined for a
prestigious position in the Church. But God had other plans for St.
John, and he ended up using all of those gifts to educate poor
young men and the delinquent sons of the wealthy instead. An
educational innovator, he abandoned traditional methods of
instruction and taught his boys in French instead of Latin.
Eventually, he founded the Brothers of the Christian Schools (or
“Christian Brothers”), a community devoted to the instruction of
poor children and the preparation of teachers in a first-of-its-kind
teacher training college. To use his gifts to foster and encourage
the gifts of others was the special charism of St. John Baptist de la
Salle. May his example encourage many to devote themselves to
the Christian education of the young!

NIGHT HELPERS
Blessed Trinity and Brothers Keeper are strongly
involved with Open Arms Village, a program to help
specially selected and motivated homeless Individuals
move out of being homeless.
Our greatest need is for volunteer night “watchmen “ to
be present at the facility from 7 pm to 7 am. You need
only sign up to help one night a month.
Please call Steve at 622-3846 for more info or to sign up.
OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL
We are very grateful to all the families who have
responded. So far 630 have sent back their
Catholic Appeal pledge envelope.
We have $217,152.57 in pledges.
Our Catholic Appeal envelopes are available in the
vestibule. Be proud of your Catholic Faith. Your
donation/pledge assures your role in all the ministries
of the Church. Your pledge is your thanksgiving
response. This week we will prepare and send a letter
to all families who have not responded.
Did you know…? Your gifts to Our
Catholic Appeal bring families closer to God
and one another.
A painter and musician happened upon a spray-painted image
of a cross on a walk along a
Mexican road. He took a
picture of what he saw: a
haunting, rough, wild,
desolate, but ultimately
hopeful image of this
universal Christian symbol.
The man with the camera
was simply out on a hike,
but he has the discerning eye of an artist, so he sees things
others might not. It is a talent cultivated over years of practice
and a reminder to all of us to pay attention—for even the
stones cry out the glory of God (cf. Luke: 19-40). Insights and
sparks of enlightenment will come to us particularly through
spiritual practice and prayer, and in those moments we will
know above all else who we are and where we are being
called.

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI,
described the family as “the
first and indispensible teacher
of peace.” We want to
nurture the faith of our
families and support them as
they face the challenges of our morally troubled
world. Because of your generous gifts to Our
Catholic Appeal, all families in our parish – and
throughout our diocese – are able to benefit from
support services provided by the Diocesan Office of
Family Life. Opportunities include marriage
enrichment programs as well as workshops designed to address the unique needs of stepfamilies
and single parent families.

Attention Empty Nesters!
Remember the energy and
excitement of high school
athletic events, band and
choir concerts, retreats and
auditions and after-school
club meetings?
We at Trinity Catholic High School encourage you to
consider housing one of our international students.
Our students’ parents pay for them to come to this
country, as well as for their tuition and fees.
However, our host families enrich this intercontinental
experience by opening their homes and hearts to
these young people. To offset the costs associated
with housing a teenager host families receive a
generous monthly stipend.
To keep this program thriving we need host
families—(starting in August 2015) for next
academic year! Express your interest as soon as
possible to Jennifer Beckett, our International
Program Director, at 352-427-5023 or
[email protected]. We are now placing students for
academic year 2015-16, which begins in August.

of Christian Fellowship
During the National Catholic Educational Association Convention each year, William H.
Sadlier, Inc. sponsors a breakfast to thank and honor those who are involved in the ministry of
Catholic education. Two Catholic Identity Awards are presented, one for a school and one for
a parish. These awards affirm the work that demonstrates our identity as a Catholic people.
Below you will find the letter from Dennis Johnson, Jr. announcing the winner of the 2015
Sadlier Catholic Identity Award;
“Father Patrick Sheedy epitomizes the best sensibilities of a pastor and has occupied that role at
the Parish of Blessed Trinity in Ocala, Florida for 27 years. Father Sheedy is a priest who
knows his people and his people know him – in fact, most of Ocala (and perhaps the entire
central Florida) know him.
Blessed Trinity is a stewardship-parish that was featured nationally for its efforts to engage
parishioner’s time, talent, and treasure. Blessed Trinity is home to a Catholic school (with
parish-paid tuition); the parish’s ministry outreach is extensive and cross-cultural (including a
large and growing Hispanic-community). Over the years, under Father Sheedy’s capable
leadership, thousands of parishioners received religious education and preparation for the
sacraments, dozens of individuals and families joined the Catholic Church, and hundreds more
benefited from the Welcome Home program designed to bring Catholics back to the Faith. At
the heart of all these efforts is a focus on discipleship – to help people walk in the steps of the
Lord, day after day and year after year – in ways that engender Catholic Identity in its best
sense. Father Sheedy seeds this expectation of fully-engaged discipleship among all
parishioners. While all of us endeavor to emulate Jesus Christ in the world and to be witnesses
of our faith in ways that draw people into the life of the Catholic Church, Father Sheedy is one
who has truly experienced some sense of success for his efforts. In appreciation of his vocation
as a priest, his charism as leader, and his spirituality as a Catholic steward, let us congratulate
Father Sheedy, who incidentally celebrates 50-years of priesthood this year, as our 2015
recipient of the Sadlier Catholic Identity Award!...”
