PRODUCT: LA400
SUBJECT: LA400 Cord with broken internal wire
This is a 2 year old unit mounted 6” off the ground with the cord going straight down into the dirt (no ‘J’ box).
Every cycle, the cord would twist at the connector which is the wires weakest link, being held captive at that
point. Granted this connector seems to be very tight, pinching the wire and not allowing any flexibility at entry
to the arm. This arm resulted in multiple callbacks, M/S, this arm would just quit but not when the dealer was
on site. Shaking or moving the wire when it acted up finally pinpointed the issue.
Plus the wire covering was broken, exposing the wires at the arm.
I would like to know how many units wire coverings deterioriate exposing internal wires (unit operational, just
a bad covering). Please include the unit serial number so we can offer this up to the cable manufacturer for
improvement. Obviously I need a CCN added to the quality data base and pictures are worth a whole bunch.
