said that the participants should be able
to dance according to the music being
played. There are two categories for the
event: the Latin America such as the
Cha-cha-cha, Rhumba and Jive and the
modern standard which includes Slow,
Waltz, Tango and Quickstep.

Meanwhile, the Olympiad was divided
into five categories namely: Sports,

for the safety of the athletics. Hence, the
Awarding Ceremony was also rescheduled
from December 4 and 5.

4,461 enrollees and highest number of
participating trainors and students, CIT
nabbed 309 points from the tally and won as
the over-all champion in the competition.
Furthermore, TUP-Taguig gained 272
points while TUP-Cavite got 79. In addition,

“Setting a new day was a big challenge,”
said by Prof. Robert Milton Calo.
Moreover, Prof. Calo advised the
TUPians to be prepared now rather
practicing a few days before the
competition. He added that they should
also be mentally, emotionally, socially,
morally, spiritually and most of all liable

Tularan Mo Kung Kaya Mo
ni TEK
I
Power Rangers Mystic Force
Kung bakit power rangers,simple
lang… Sila ang mga pangunahing
tagapagtanggol ng inyong mahal na
publikasyon sa tuwing ito’y nabibingit
sa kapahamakan. Ang kapangyarihan
nila, hindi man makakapaminsala ay
tunay namang epektibo.
sila’y aming aanyayahang umupo. Bukod
pa rito, mabusisi nilang kinikilatis kung
sinu-sino ang uupo sa Editorial Board
at magpapatuloy bilang mga ganap na
kawani ng Philippine Artisan.
Kung sinu-sino ang tinutukoy ko, heto
sila:
Prof. Margarette Aquino, dating
Technical Adviser ng PA at ngayo’y
Head ng English Department. Siya rin
ang tumatayong Chairman ng naturang
committee. Tambak man ang trabaho
niya bilang full time professor, hindi
niya kailanman isinawalang bahala ang
mga tanong namin sa kaniya. Totoo nga
namang dapat po kayong tularan mam!
Hindi man po kayo ngayon ang tumatayo
naming technical adviser, ngunity kayo pa
rin po ang magpapatuloy na adviser sa
puso ng bawat Artisan.
Prof. Ruby de Leon, isang butihing
Assistant to the Vice President for Academic
Affairs. Dati ring naging Editor-in-Chief ng
PA. Madalas niyo man po kaming punahin
Dating Director of Student Affairs si Prof.
Eduardo L. Doyaoen. Siya rin ay isang
guro mula sa Social Science Department.
Kilala siya sa pagbibigay ng mahabang
pagsususlit.
pagtitiwala.
Sponsor to the Max
Sa pambansang sistema, relihiyon ang
namamagitan sa media at pulitika. Ganun
din marahil ang sistema dito sa ating
unibersidad. Ito marahil ang dahilan kung
bakit iniluluklok ang campus ministry sa
pagitan ng Philippine Artisan at University
Student Government.
Ang kuwento sa likod ng title nito:
minsan, inanyayahan kami ng Campus
Ministry na mag-lay out para sa kanilang
tarpaulin. Ang kapalit nito ay isang
bonggang-bonggang 12 x 1.5 ft tarpaulin
para sa PA at USG. Ang naturang tarp ay
libre lamang.
Tunay ngang dapat tularan ang
organisasyong ito dahil sa ipinamalas
nitong kawang gawa. Tumutulong sila
nang walang hinihinging kapalit. Salamat
at karapat-dapat talaga kayong tularan
Campus Ministry.
Bb. News Editor
Noong nakaraang school year, nang
panandaliang
maisara
ang
inyong
pahayagan, si Bb. News Editor ang muling
tumulong na mabuksan ito. Siya ang tumayo
bilang technical adviser at tagapagtanggol
namin.
Ang tinutukoy namin ay si Bb. May
Ann G. Robledo mula sa Mechanical
Engineering Technology. Isang full time
professor dito sa ating unibersidad. Dito rin
siya nagtapos. Dati, isa rin siyang News
Editor ng Philippine Artisan.
Nais lamang po naming iparating sa inyo
Ma’am May Ann na nakuha ninyo ang aming
respeto. Pinatunayan ninyong, “Once an
Artisan, always an Artisan” sa pamamagitan
ng inyong pagtulong. Salamat po!
PA’s Knight in Shining Armor
Isang semestreng hindi nag-function ang
PA dahil sa kawalan ng technical adviser.
Dahil dito, maraming transactions ang
hindi naipatupad. Kabilang sa mga ito ang
pagrerelease ng diyaryo at pagsasagawa ng
mga events.
Hala!
Astig!
Nararapat lamang talagang makatanggap
sila nang round of applause followed by
standing ovation (Rihanna?); susundan pa
ito nang medal + hiyawan + plaque + yun
muna. Hindi lahat sa ating unibersidad ay
pang-habulin lang. Marami din dapat ang
pangalanan at bigyan ng karampatang
papuri. Kaya ano pang hinihintay ninyo,

After the week-long celebration of TUP- Manila’s
107 th Foundation Day, what came next was the 60th
Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights (December 10).
During the foundation day celebration, all seems
planned and being well executed. Of course some
had problems but were fortunately solved right away.
Students involved were entertained and learned the
importance of the university’s existence for more than
a century.
On the 3rd day of December at around 3:30PM,
everyone was astonished when a directive order coming
from an official was implemented. No student is being
allowed to go outside the university. All the gates were
closed. No reason was being accepted.
Stranded TUPians were worried because they have
to attend a job. Some needed to go home early for
personal reasons; some have projects to accomplish
and to submit within the day, some needed to go at the
money wire transfer office (that is just open from 9AM6PM) to get their allowance and many more excusable
reasons were aching for a consideration that moment.
Since the guards were just following orders, they
could never be blamed for what happened. But they
could never escape the fact that they are responsible for
their actions. There is always a better way to accomplish
whatever we are being asked for. Students must not be
pushed literally and figuratively for without them, the
university will never be an educational institution.
Moreover, in this kind of event, there are two
offices that must have been initiating an act to protect
the freedom of the students. The University Student
Government (USG) and Office of Student Affairs (OSA)
could have aided the situation.
Finally, around 5PM, the gates were opened. Though
the detention lasted for more or less just an hour, the
effect of it is immeasurable as far as the students are
concerned.
Reasons could be over or under another reason. The
thing is, an official must make sure that the orders being
implemented has the highest amount of advantages and
has the least quantity of disadvantages. We must face
the truth that most students are not just mere students.
As a whole, celebrating the university’s founding
year was successful. On the other hand, failure was
observed upon the campaign for the UDHR.
That day, TUPians were deprived of their freedom
from want. Tyranny was practiced and this thing should
never happen, in whatever way, ever again! PA
