BAGGING / MULCHING / DISCHARGE
There are different ways of disposing of cuttings: mulching, bagging and discharge. Some of the Cub Cadet lawnmowers
offer all three functions simultaneously; other mowers can be converted with appropriate attachments. You can
recognise these by our logos:

You have the choice of four
different methods. Bagging,
mulching, rear discharge or
side discharge. This gives
you the freedom to select
the ideal discharge solution.
BAGGING:
Collecting is recommended for those who don´t have the time to mow very
often and want to have a clean looking well-groomed garden. Besides that,
collecting has the advantage to take debris such as leaves and dead grass out and
make room for light and water. In return, the garden needs a good amount of water
for a healthy appearance and the grass needs to be disposed into a composter,
a garden waste bin or just out of sight.
When collecting the clippings, the resistance on the cutting blade is less than when
mulching because grass is cut once and directly transported into the bag. Therefore
energy consumption is in favour of collecting.
MULCHING:
Mulching is recommended for well-groomed gardens and for people who have the
ability to mow at least twice a week during high season.
When mulching, the grass swirls around the cutting deck and is being cut several
times until particles are so small that they will fall through the blades onto the
ground. As grass consists almost 90% of water, it is recycled back into the soil and not
lost. It can be used as a natural green fertiliser. The smaller the particles are, the
better groomed the garden looks and less debris lies on top of the grass.
For best results do not attempt to cut grass by more than 1 - 2 cm. The secret to
mulching is little and often. Energy consumption will raise dramatically with length
of grass as the resistance gets higher with extra grass volume.
DISCHARGE:
When discharging the clippings, the grass is usually released through an opening on the
side or rear of the cutting deck and spread back onto the lawn. This type of lawn
care is usually recommended for more natural meadows that don´t need cutting as
frequently as well-groomed gardens and that grow higher. Usually, these conditions
do not occur around the house as the grass debris will end up in the house, pool or
walkways.
The resistance on the blade is almost identical to collecting but back pressure from a
grassbag is absent, so discharging is the most energy efficient method to mow.

The MySpeed premium drive control system delivers high-performance and industry-leading control. With it
you’ll experience smoother engagement, superior speed variability and enhanced traction. Plus, the Cub Cadet
exclusive ultra-soft rubber grip area reduces vibration and operator fatigue.
The MySpeed drive system
The drive system engages once the handle is pushed
forward. If the operator walks faster, the handle is
automatically pushed further forward and the speed
of the lawnmower increases.
If the operator walks slower, the handle pivots
back and the unit slows down. If the operator stops
walking, the lever automatically moves to neutral
and the lawnmower stands still.
The lawnmower speed automatically adjusts to the
desired walking speed of the operator.
Tip: Do not pivot the handle forward to engage the
drive system. Just grab the handle and start to walk.
The handle will then automatically pivot forward and
the lawnmower starts to move forward.

The Triloy series of lawnmowers are unique due to
their special deck. Composed of three parts made in
aluminium and zinc coated steel which, guarantees

The rotary motion of the specially shaped and coated
blades generates an air current which speeds grass
clippings into the bag. Collection performance is
further enhanced by `boosted airflow technology`.

The innovative Cub Cadet LV low-vibration handle contains a gel of polymers and synthetic hydrocarbons

Modern design, versatility and comfortable mowing are just three of many assets of the Cub Cadet series
MINI-RIDERS. The compact and manoeuvrable Cub Cadet MINI-RIDER models with electric start are equipped
with a powerful 420 cm³ Cub Cadet engine.
Thanks to their space-saving design, these MINI-RIDER models do not need much more space in your garage than
a conventional walk behind mower. If you want the grass clippings to be bagged, discharged or mulched, the
Cub Cadet CC114TA or new CC114HA will be your choice. If you are looking for an excellent mulching mower
with the opportunity to side-discharge the clippings then the CC114TD is the perfect choice. The CC114HA comes
equipped with hydrostatic drive meaning you can control the forward and reverse speed continuously on the
move.
Transmatic Transmission
76 cm (30") mowing deck
The Transmatic transmission allows shift-on-the-go speed
control. Simply choose the driving direction, set the
desired basic speed and start mowing. On the Cub Cadet
MINI-RIDERS CC114TA and CC114TD, you have the choice of
6 forward and 6 reverse speeds.
You have the choice between collecting, mulching and
discharge with model CC114TA. Choose between mulching
and side discharge with model CC114TD. Superior
mulching, excellent bagging and spreading side discharge
ability. Whatever you choose, the MINI-RIDER can handle
it.

lever on the dashboard and release the brake/clutch pedal. Push the pedal to slow down or press it all the way forward to
stop. By releasing the brake pedal, the tractor automatically resumes your preset speed.

Is maintenance free. It can be compared with the automatic transmission of a car. The speed can simply be adjusted with the
foot pedal. With the gear selector lever you simply choose forward or reverse. There is no clutch to worry about and both

Impressive, even by modern technology and luxury standards. Because of its self-lubricating hydro pump, it is low
maintenance and extremely sturdy. The particular feature of the Hydrostatic transmission is that you can control velocity as
well as the forward and reverse speed continuously. No clutching or shifting is required. It offers a very smooth and exact
drive. The 900 and 1000 Series lawn tractors are foot-pedal controlled, the 700 Series lawn tractors have either hand control
(side discharge) or a foot pedal (rear discharge).

Pulling a lever on the right side of the seat, the chute opens in the area of the deck and the clogged grass can fall out.
The grass on the rear plate and on the bag full indicator is pushed into the grass bag. This clean out system can be
operated while the blades are running. It is also perfect in combination with the deck wash nozzle as the grass will not
end up in the bag as the overflow will be closed. The result is better collection of light debris and autumn leaves.
Easy removal of the grass bag
You only have to pull the knob and the bag sinks softly to
the ground.

To recharge the battery, the LAWNKEEPER has to return to
the charging station. It uses the boundary wire as a guide
and follows it back to the charging station, but always
on a slightly different route. This means that it does not
leave tracks in the lawn.
The LAWNKEEPER comes with a battery maintenance kit.
Connected up to this system, it can spend the winter
safely in your garage or toolshed and the trickle charge
keeps the battery healthy.
Cleaning and maintenance are quick and simple thanks to
the modular construction of all main components.

The housing of the mower and the blades have to be
cleaned more often if the grass is mown in the rain.
To avoid this, there is a rain sensor which prevents the
mower from starting or lets it stop mowing and return
to the base station when it‘s raining. The sensitivity of
the sensor to moisture can be individually set using the
menu.

The unique design of the cutting deck support lets the
deck float over uneven terrain, thus providing a perfect
and even cut.
The LAWNKEEPER’s mulching system cuts the grass into
tiny particles at up to 4,000 rpm. This also “irrigates” the
lawn, because grass consists of 90 % water. No need to
compost or dispose of the clippings. Mulching is a natural
fertiliser however it cannot provide all nutrients. Please
ask your local dealer for special fertiliser to use with
robotic mowers.

Internal shredder blades reduce the volume of leaves and

BEAUTY TREATMENT FOR YOUR LAWN.
Scarifying is an important part of perfect lawn care. It helps to fight against the notorious thatch which is formed
in every lawn and is blocking the supply of air, water and nutrients to the roots.
Correct scarifying will let the lawn breathe again. The Cub Cadet scarifier CCV40B will bring the right power to
remove this thatch so that sunlight, air and water can once again reach the soil and roots.
In addition, the CCV40B has interchangeable blades and springs. This allows for two functions in one machine:
aerating and scarifying.
Blades and springs
The CCV40B has 17 flail double blades and 16 double
springs. This combination allows for two functions in one
machine – for aerating and scarifying. If you would like
to aerate the soil in your garden, use the higher position
with a gentle touch of the blades and springs on the
surface of the soil. If there is the need to scarify, use a
deeper position of the blades and springs which have a
more aggressive action on the surface.
Important lawn care information:
After scarifying your lawn, please don´t forget to reseed
bare patches and to feed it with fertiliser and water. Your
local dealer will be happy to provide you with further
information.
