These scanners support all functionality of the scanners below, on which they are based: • • • • LS 3200 LS 3200ER LS 3203ER LS 3603 The KS 32XX/36XX’s internal heater prevents condensation caused by moving between environments of varying temperatures, for example from a freezer into a warm environment. About This Guide This guide is a supplement to the Quick Reference Guide provided for the standard scanners listed above, and provides instructions for the following procedures: • • • Inserting the scanner in the insulated boot Connecting the power supply to the fork truck power system Connecting the scanner to the power supply. 3 K S 3 2 X X / 3 6 X X H e a t e d S c a n n e r Inserting Scanner in Insulated Boot To assemble your scanner inside the boot: 1. Slide the scanner down into the opening in the top of the boot. The cable from the back of the scanner should feed through the boot and out the bottom opening. 2. Push the scanner all the way down until it is seated completely in the boot, with the cable coming out the bottom against the back of the scanner handle. 4 Q u i c k R e f e r e n c e 3. Zip closed the openings on the top and back of the boot. 5 3 2 X X / 3 6 X X H e a t e d S c a n n e r Connecting the Power Supply to the Fork Truck Electrical System 1. Connect the cable from the back of the power supply to the matching connector on the adapter cable. FUSE FUSE K S 2. Connect the wires at the other end of the adapter cable to a power connector within the fork truck’s electrical system. These wires are marked to ensure connection to the correct polarity. The power supply is designed for systems from 20 to 72 VDC, which includes most trucks that support connection of computers, radios, and lights. Contact your fork truck representative if you have questions regarding power supply installation. Note: Be sure certified personnel perform this installation. 6 Q u i c k R e f e r e n c e Connecting the Scanner to the Power Supply To connect the scanner: 1. Plug the power cable from the back of the scanner into the matching connector of the coil cord. 2. Plug the round connector of the power cord into the round receptacle on the power supply. Tighten the connection using pliers, if necessary. Faites glisser le lecteur dans l’ouverture aménagée de la partie supérieure de l’embase. Le câble au dos du lecteur doit passer à travers l’embase et sortir par l’ouverture aménagée dans la partie inférieure. 2. Poussez le lecteur à fond jusqu’à ce qu’il soit totalement inséré dans l’embase et que son câble sorte de la partie inférieure de la poignée du lecteur. 10 G u i d e u t i l i s a t e u r 3. Branchez le câble d’alimentation situé sur la partie inférieure du lecteur au connecteur correspondant du câble en spirale. 2. Branchez le connecteur rond au cordon d’alimentation dans la prise ronde sur l’alimentation. Serrez les connexions au moyen d’une pince si nécessaire. Dies kommt beispielsweise bei Kühlanlagen in der Industrie und im Handel vor. Diese Scanner weisen alle Funktionen der nachstehend aufgeführten Scanner auf, auf denen sie basieren: • • • • LS 3200 LS 3200ER LS 3203ER LS 3603 Die eingebaute Heizung der Modelle KS 32XX/36XX verhindert die Bildung von Kondenswasser am Scan-Fenster, die durch den Wechsel zwischen Umgebungen mit unterschiedlichen Temperaturen verursacht wird, also z. B. zwischen einer Kühlanlage und einer warmen Halle. Informationen zu dieser Kurzübersicht Die vorliegende Kurzübersicht ergänzt die Kurzübersicht für die oben aufgeführten Standardscanner und enthält Anweisungen für die Durchführung folgender Arbeitsgänge: • • • Einsetzen des Scanners in den isolierten Fuß Anschließen der Stromversorgung an das Elektrosystem des Gabelstaplers Anschließen des Scanners an die Stromversorgung. 15 K S 3 2 X X / 3 6 X X B e h e i z b a r e r S c a n n e r Einsetzen des Scanners in den isolierten Fuß So bauen Sie den Scanner in den Fuß ein: 1. Schieben Sie den Scanner in die Öffnung im oberen Teil des Fußes. Das Kabel an der Rückseite des Scanners wird durch den Fuß eingeführt und dann durch die untere Öffnung geführt. 2. Schieben Sie den Scanner ganz nach unten, bis er sich vollständig im Fuß befindet. Das Kabel kommt aus dem unteren Teil heraus und liegt an der Rückseite des Scannergriffs an. 16 K u r z ü b e r s i c h t 3. Verbinden Sie das Kabel von der Rückseite des Netzteils mit dem entsprechenden Anschluß am Adapterkabel. FUSE FUSE 2. Verbinden Sie die Leitungen am anderen Ende des Adapterkabels mit einem Netzstecker, der zum Elektrosystem des Gabelstaplers gehört. Diese Leitungen sind markiert, um die Verbindung zur richtigen Polarität zu gewährleisten. Die Stromversorgung ist für Gleichstromsysteme von 20 bis 72 V konstruiert, so daß sie sich für die meisten Gabelstapler eignet, an die Computer, Funkanlagen und Leuchten angeschlossen werden können. Bei Fragen zur Installation der Stromversorgung wenden Sie sich an einen Mitarbeiter des Gabelstaplerherstellers. Hinweis: Die Installation muß von geschultem Personal durchgeführt werden. 18 K u r z ü b e r s i c h t Anschließen des Scanners an die Stromversorgung So schließen Sie den Scanner an: 1. Befestigen Sie das Netzkabel am Schnittstellenkabel des Scanners. Verwenden Sie dazu die fünf Klemmen, die zum Netzkabel gehören. Zum Scanner 3. Stecken Sie den runden Stecker des Netzkabels in die runde Buchse des Netzteils. Ziehen Sie diese Verbindung gegebenenfalls mit Hilfe einer kleinen Zange fest. (“Symbol”) manufactures its hardware products in accordance with industry-standard practices. Symbol warrants that for a period of twelve (12) months from date of shipment, products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is provided to the original owner only and is not transferable to any third party. It shall not apply to any product (i) which has been repaired or altered unless done or approved by Symbol, (ii) which has not been maintained in accordance with any operating or handling instructions supplied by Symbol, (iii) which has been subjected to unusual physical or electrical stress, misuse, abuse, power shortage, negligence or accident or (iv) which has been used other than in accordance with the product operating and handling instructions. Preventive maintenance is the responsibility of customer and is not covered under this warranty. Wear items and accessories having a Symbol serial number, will carry a 90-day limited warranty. Non-serialized items will carry a 30-day limited warranty. Warranty Coverage and Procedure During the warranty period, Symbol will repair or replace defective products returned to Symbol’s manufacturing plant in the US. For warranty service in North America, call the Symbol Support Center at 1-800-653-5350. International customers should contact the local Symbol office or support center. If warranty service is required, Symbol will issue a Return Material Authorization Number. Products must be shipped in the original or comparable packaging, shipping and insurance charges prepaid. Symbol will ship the repaired or replacement product freight and insurance prepaid in North America. Shipments from the US or other locations will be made F.O.B. Symbol’s manufacturing plant. Symbol will use new or refurbished parts at its discretion and will own all parts removed from repaired products. Customer will pay for the replacement product in case it does not return the replaced product to Symbol within 3 days of receipt of the replacement product. The process for return and customer’s charges will be in accordance with Symbol’s Exchange Policy in effect at the time of the exchange. Customer accepts full responsibility for its software and data including the appropriate backup thereof. Repair or replacement of a product during warranty will not extend the original warranty term.
