Trade Mission 2015
The Ohio Development Services Agency invites you to take part in a trade mission to Mexico from
March 1 – March 6, 2015. The mission will be led by the Council of Great Lakes Governors in partnership
with the Ohio Development Services Agency in order to assist small to medium-sized companies from
the Great Lakes region looking to export products and services to these exciting markets.
Ohio Mission Participants Will Receive:
• Business Matchmaking: Customized one-on-one business appointments with prospective agents,
distributors or buyers in each city. Participants will average three to four business appointments each day,
depending upon the company’s products, services and objectives.
• Market Research: Valuable market research including industry sector information and target company profiles.
• In-country Business Briefings: Briefings by local business and government officials will provide extensive
market knowledge.
• Trade Office Staff Support: The Council of Great Lakes Governors and Ohio Export Assistance staff will be
available to assist with preparation for the mission as well as post-mission follow-up.
• Ground Transportation: Group transportation from airport to hotel will be provided.
• Group-rate Accommodations: Block hotel bookings will be available.
• Other Services: Recommendations for suitable drivers, interpreters and business services will be available.

Why Export to Mexico?
• Mexico accounts for approximately 1/8 of all
U.S. exports with more than $1.4 billion per day
in two-way trade.
• In 2013, the Great Lakes States and Provinces
exported approximately $58 billion to Mexico.
• Strategic location with attractive business climate,
legal certainty and notable political maturity.
• The North American Free Trade Agreement,
enacted in 1994, created a free trade zone for
Mexico, Canada and the United States.
• Mexico has a population of 120 million, with 78
percent living in urban areas. Mexico has a young
population with a median age of 27.
• Mexico offers a large market with a GDP of
approximately USD $1.8 trillion.
• Labor, education and telecom reforms as well
as proposed energy and fiscal reforms have
people optimistic that the country will continue to
increase its competitiveness.

The International Trade Assistance Center (ITAC)
hosted by Columbus State Community College is
partnering with the Ohio Development Services
Agency (ODSA) and the Council of Great Lakes
Governors to present a seminar on December
4th, 2014 on export and business opportunities
in Mexico from 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. For more

Mission Costs
Mission Participation Fee: $995 USD per person
• Includes in-country staff support, group airport
transportation, country briefings and networking
events and pre-trip and in-country staff support.
Market Research and Appointment Setting Fees:
• The original cost of market research and
appointment setting fees is $2,775. However,
these fees will be subsidized for Ohio companies.
