Your “Open Water SCUBA Diver Certificate” is your first step to enjoying the
underwater world with GS-DIVING

SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course
GS-DIVING conducts all classes with no more than 6 students per instructor
What is required?
o
10 years of age
o
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water
o
Able to swim 200 meters non-stop
o
Able to tread water or float for 10 minutes
o
Dive skills, safety and planning
o
You will have to fill in and sign the student profile, liability releases and medical statement (or
Parent/Guardian may need to sign, if applicable)
o
When in doubt about your health, a dive doctor’s opinion should be sought
STEP 1 – SDI e-learning (online self study and exams)
o
Completed in your own time prior to the pool session
STEP 2 – Pool Session conducted at :
o
Outram Secondary School 630pm to 1030pm
STEP 3 – Five Open Water Boat Dives (in the ocean)
o
Pulau Aur, Malaysia – overland departing Friday evening and returning Sunday evening.
