Dear dive friends,
Busy times: A new year with new goals has started very well with lots of bookings.
Our staff worked very hard to get everything tip top for the busy times ahead. The
boats are newly painted and all the dive equipment for rental is renewed. A new
Dive Master has been added to the team and we are ready for you!

MORE CRITTERS!
Our dive guides have been diving for a
long time in the waters of Moalboal
and know so many different species
that we wonder how they still manage
to discover NEW things.
This time it is Juan who found a rock
shrimp, leander plumosus. It lives up to a
depth of 15mtr and is really small, 3cm
max. It has an amazing design on its
body and a beautiful golden-brown
colour.
BOOT DÜSSELDORF
Good times in Germany Dusseldorf
where we caught up with many of our
guests.
From 19 to 27 January there was the
yearly Dive show at BOOT in Dusseldorf.
Arie and Desiree were present for the 6th
year running and they met up with lots of
Magic Island guests.
GROUPS VISITING US
In recent months we have had the
pleasure of welcoming some groups
from America.
Heartland Scuba from cold Nebraska was
with us for the second time and it was so
good to see all those familiar faces again.
Scuba Travel Venture from sunny
California also stayed with us – we
already knew many of those divers from
the DEMA show in America and it was
great to see them again. Thank you to
both groups for a great time and we are
looking forward to seeing next time!
NEW ROOM AMENITIES:
We are constantly upgrading the
services we provide!
There are several new features in the
rooms including hair-dryers, shampoo
and soap and also a laundry basket for
our laundry service.
THE BOATS ARE REPAINTED:
Our 3 traditional Banka boats are
looking new again!
The strong Filipino sun, the salty
seawater and intensive use is really hard
for our boats so proper maintenance is
very important. After stripping, sanding
and painting, 3 freshly renovated boats
are ready for the coming year.
ATM MACHINE IN MOALBOAL:
Two hours on the bus for an ATM machine is no longer necessary!
It took a while but finally we have a real ATM machine in Moalboal. The local
pharmacy installed an ATM machine which also accepts international cards.
WHAT HAPPENED THIS MONTH AT MAGIC ISLAND?
Marianne celebrated her birthday in January and in February Ronnen, Richard and
Elaine celebrated their birthdays, the last birthday cake was for Warren. Ute, Robert,
Ella and Thomas successfully completed their PADI Open Water course and
Christophe, Eeva and Gail got their Advanced Open Water, Eva and Gail also finished
their Enriched Air Diver licenses.
