A major amount of our excavation and earthworks revolves around the highly specialised land remediation sector. Our company has carried out several major colliery land remediation schemes and numerous
brownfield site redevelopments.These works include dealing with special waste, processing or
concrete / unsuitable materials, ground engineering and ground remodelling in preparation for
redevelopment / landscaping.
Processing of Materials
Contaminated Land
One of our abilities at TKL is the processing of
materials to the highest specification on site.We
have developed three principle stages to enable
material to be processed promptly:
TKL deal with all types of special waste and have
vast amounts of experience treating contaminated
materials by various methods:
1. Off site disposal to a licensed land fill site
2. On site treatment i Encapsulation within an
engineered cell
ii Bioremediation techniques
To ensure safe practice COSHH assessments, risk
assessments and method statements are of paramount importance to provide protection for both
the workforce and the general public.
TKL are registered carriers of waste therefore all
off site works can be undertaken in-house. Off site
works are carried out under both Duty of Care and
current Environmental Protection Act Legislation

2. Crushing of reinforced concrete to class 6f2,
DOT and MOT Type1 specification
3. Recompaction of fill materials to above 95%
of the maximum dry density

demolition equipment including high reach
excavators with a reach of upto 26m.The machine
are of the latest technology fitted with in-cab
cameras, equipped with concrete crushers and

Market has emerged a Specialist Contractor
focusing on the Clients requirements for a
company to carry out Demolition, Remediation,
Excavation and Groundworks as a single package.
The current shifts in planning have seen a boom in
the development of former Industrial sites.
The TKL business supported by its inhouse
Geotechnical Team and Civil Engineeers has
developed a Groundworks team to enable us to
deliver the specific needs of the development of the
Client.
Staffed by a permanent team dedicated to this
initiative,TKL specialises in contracts involving the
installation of roads and sewers together with
building the substructures up to damp proof course.
This service is carried out on a lump sum all risk
basis or on the more traditional re-measure.
Our Groundworks Division also specialises in Earth
Retaining Walls and Slope Stabilisation Works and
offer the service of providing the most cost
effective solution, design and warranty for all types
of structures.

TKL are proud to introduce their new 8 acre
Recycling Facility based at Wath-Upon-Dearne,
Rotherham. Our station includes a 32,000 square
foot building which houses new state of the art
recycling technology imported from Holland.
The Waste Recycling facility offers a comprehensive
range of waste disposal and recycling services,
managed by qualified personnel whose experience
ensures that all operations are handled efficiently,
cost effectively and with the minimum disruption to
the Clients business.
Our ability to remove, sort and recycle
construction & demolition waste means that by
using TKL Recycling you can save significant expense
on waste disposal charges. Our aim at all times is to
offer practical and environmentally sound solutions
to your Waste Management problems with limited
material going to landfill.
Licensed Waste Transfer Station
TKL recently purchased over £2,000,000 of new
state of the art recycling technology including a
Redox Sorting Station which includes a 40 foot
12 person picking station, several screens and wind
shifters together with mobile crushers and screens.
This set up allows our site to process construction
and demolition waste to produce recycled
aggregates to DOT Specification.The products
also include crushed brick and Type 1 concrete
Class 6F2, 6F1 and Class 4A and 5A bulk fill.
Timber, plastic and metals are all separated and
taken away for recycling. Our current success rates
are over 94%
Skip Hire
TKL have purchased a fleet of roll on, roll off skip
wagons and have over 500 skips in circulation from
which the Client may select the size and type that
meets their needs.
TKL offer an efficient and reliable service that will
solve all your Waste Management problems.
