The boys beat Smith Center 36-16, capping o๏ฌ an undefeated season. Running back Cha'ron Ellis said, "This year's been fun. We worked hard all summer, and it paid o๏ฌ with an MCEL championship. Hopefully we can also have a successful basketball season. Go Panthers!" Quarterback Trey Sides added, "Over the summer our guys knew this season wasn't gonna be easy. We worked hard in the weight room and ran sprints and routes as early as 6:30. Our guys saw last year what you can do if you really want to be successful. Our guys wanted the MCEL championship and we did just that." The 8th graders earned a whopping 1,501 points compared to the 7th graders' 770 points. They celebrated last Friday with class parties that featured yummy food, drinks, and the "sock game." The top five readers are pictured below.
