With the long and cold winter behind us we are all looking forward to getting back to working in our gardens. Spring represents a fresh start to try new varieties, resurrect old forgotten projects and renew our commitment to creating the yards we can all be proud of. Our team at Sunset Nursery work all year to bring you the latest products and newest varieties to help you be successful. We research the latest varieties and products to ensure you achieve optimal results in your garden. Our greenhouses and newly renovated landscape area are bursting with new ideas of colour and a complete selection of fresh annuals, trees, shrubs, fruit and perennials to choose from. Our greenhouse growers are ready to share helpful hints on how to be successful with the quality plants they have raised in our own state of the art greenhouses. Our experts are here to assist you whether it’s a pest problem or you need help creating a custom planter. Our designers love to help you create the yard that dreams are made of. Last April we opened our new Karisma Fashion Boutique inside Sunset Nursery, complete with change rooms. Ladies are thrilled that we now have a facility in Pembroke that stocks ladies clothing and fashion accessories that are both trendy and affordable. Check out our new Kitchen Department full of helpful gadgets, loose teas and preserves – something for every discerning cook. Purple Passion Asparagus These burgundywine spears are a pleasant change from the average green asparagus. They have a nutty flavour when cooked and are sweeter than most other asparagus varieties. Provides excellent purple color if added to salads raw, but turns green when cooked. Arugula These strong tasting spinachlike greens with a delicious nutty flavor are very popular in salads or cooked like spinach. Available as a seed or in plant form in our greenhouse. Black Beauty Eggplant This variety produces large dark purple fruits on healthy compact plants with fruit remaining tender and tart for an extended period. They pack a variety of vitamins and minerals and many nutrients with antioxidant properties. Jawell Cucumber Be Sweet Edible Soya Bean More commonly referred to as edamame and a good choice for Northern climates. This early vegetable soybean is used primarily as a green shelled bean and has both superior eating quality and more protein than lima beans. High-yielding 30 inch plants produce medium-sized pods that hold 2 to 3 large beans. Pick up your seeds in our store today and starting feeling the benefits of this unique plant. Josta Berry This easy to grow fruit tastes like a combination Cherries Available in tree or bush form and as sour or sweet there is a variety to suit every palate. Hardy and delicious these are a real treat to grow – and eat! Apple Trees We carry over 15 varieties of apples in our landscape area including 5 in 1 varieties.
