September 2015 National Assisted Living Week Dubuque Alzheimer’s Walk in September Join us in the effort and be a part of our Dubuque Alzheimer’s Walk, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at the Medline/Bergfeld Recreation Area. You can sign-up for the walk on-line at www.alz.org/walk or simply call the Dubuque Alzheimer’s Association local office at: 563-589-0030 to sign-up or for more information. You can also participate by dropping off your donation to Community Relations Coordinator Cindy. So far ‘Team Sunset’ has raised over $1,000 through several activities this past year including our most recent ‘Paint The Town Purple’ where residents and staff wore something purple and donated to the cause! So won’t you be a part of the walk and help us with the efforts to end Alzheimer’s?! (Pictured above Sunset employees Deb and Lauren showing off their ‘Paint the Town Purple Attire’) It’s almost here, National Assisted Living Week, September 13-19. We have some great events for residents, family members and the community to attend. A couple of big events will be the live radio broadcast on KDTH radio, September 16, from 1 – 5 pm. Also on Thursday, September 13 will be the annual Sunset Park Place Talent Show, at 6:00 pm. We’re still looking for acts too – just let us know if you’ll be performing or just attend and bring the family! We Are Living To Be Healthy On August 12, 2015 Sunset Park Place celebrated our 2 year anniversary with Live 2B Healthy! All of the residents that participate enjoy working out with our trainer Maria. She encourages the residents (and staff!) to work hard and is so creative Many of our residents have participated for the entire 2 years of our program. Feeling stronger, safer, and getting great reports from their doctors, including reducing medications, keeps them coming back for every session! The headbands you see in the photos were worn for the ‘party . day’ of the anniversary. Sunset Park Place 3730 Pennsylvania Ave. Dubuque, IA 52002 Shucks – It’s Time For Corn! Coming up - October 15 to December 7 will be when ALL people with Medicare can change their prescription drug coverage. There is a SHIPP office at Sunset that can help. You just need to make an appointment to see a counselor at 563-583-3384. Sunset September Birthdays In astrology, those born between the 1st and 22nd of September are Virginal Virgos.
