China Plans
For The Moon
"Blood
Moon"
On September 27th, a “Blood
Moon” took place around 9:45pm.
A Blood Moon happens when 4
lunar eclipses happen all at once.
The moon gets a reddish or
brownish tint because the direct
sunlight is blocked, but the sun’s
rays still light up the moon. This
light however, has travelled through
Earth’s atmosphere first which
sometimes gives the moon a red or
brown look.
By Arianna Kautz
In the past, we have gone to
the moon many times. But never
the dark side, this is what China
plans to do before the year 2020,
making them named the first
country to do so. The mission
will be carried out by the lunar
probe Chang-e 4 named after
their lunar goddess. China also
has plans to visit Mars, as well as
a space station. They plan for
takeoff sometime during 2016.
Chinese officials have also said
that they plan to launch the space
station in 2018 and start its orbit
in 2022.
Weather
During our fall, there will be warm temperatures.
When the winter weather strikes it will strike hard. The
cold temperatures will develop in November and be
colder than average. In the northern region of the
United States, we will be experiencing above average
temperatures December - February while cold air will
likely move into the central U.S. by late October. The
east and west coast's are expected to stay warmer. In
November, temperatures are expected to be colder than
average for the southern United States.
