Who are this year`s coaches?
IFYC COACHES 2016-17 The IFYC Coaches serve as paraprofessional staff within the Interfaith Leadership Institutes and the Interfaith Leadership Lab gatherings. They represent strong student leaders, who stand out for their interfaith leadership on their respective campuses. Throughout the academic year, they train their peers to use their voice, engage in dialogue across different, and act together to effect social change. AMINATA DIALLO Mimi Diallo was one of the founders of Better Together at Susquehanna University where she has focused on equality and inclusivity. Outside of the classroom, she’s a member of the French Club and serves as a tour guide. In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. – Martin Luther DANIELLE “DANI” TARGOSZ Dani Targosz founded Carthage College’s Better Together club and is active with the meditation and belly dancing clubs. When not acting as Carthage’s interfaith rockstar on campus, she enjoys knitting, playing video games, dancing, and going out for (Chicago-style) pizza. When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story. – Barney Stinson EIMAN ALI Eiman Ali just finished her third year at Meredith College and has a passion for service and equal opportunity. On the rare occasion that she has free time, she enjoys loudly singing with her ukulele, watching movies with her siblings, and going on adventures with her squad. Happy is the man who avoids hardship, but how fine is the man who is afflicted and shows endurance. – Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) 1 JEREMY TIBBETTS Jeremy Tibbetts is a founding member of the Interfaith Council at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is passionate about education and identity. She values humility, compassion, and a good cup of coffee. God invites us in freedom and without coercion into a deeper relationship of self-knowledge, healing, and intimacy. What is really wonderful is that we do not have to walk on this journey alone. – Mary Clark-Kaiser, Director of Campus Ministry at Aquinas College LINDSEY BRESSLER Lindsey Bressler, a fourth year student at Northeastern University, has focused her interfaith efforts on driving student-led work. For fun, she likes updating Goodreads, drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee, and rediscovering old music. Patience is a minor form of despair, disguised as a virtue. – Ambrose Bierce MAYA WILLIAMS Maya Williams is President of East Carolina University’s Interfaith Pirates Better Together group and is active in promoting interfaith in her surrounding community. She has a passion for creative self-expression, which she sees as a form of social action and healing. Who knows but that, on the lower frequencies, I speak for you? – Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man 2 MELAINA RILEY Melaina Riley is a rising senior Oklahoma City University where she founded OCU’s Better Together and helped establish their Better Together Week. As an avid lover of all things Star Wars and a future UMC reverend, one of her biggest life goals is to develop a Star Warsthemed sermon series. Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn. – John Wesley SARA FUNKHOUSER Sara Funkhouser, a student at Concordia College, seeks to create a world where everyone can feel accepted and where whole identities are valued.
