ERIC’S FUND HIGHLIGHTS
Eric’s Fund provided cultural items including décor and toys
for a new child, provided a special birthday celebration for our
17-year old and 2-year old as well as outings to the movies.
Eric’s Fund also provided for the annual school photos and art
supplies and art frames for Angelica.
Dear Friends & Supporters:
Summer has officially ended and Halloween and the holidays are almost upon us.
We welcomed an infant into the Children’s Country Home family and were saddened by the death
of one of our children in September.
Eric’s Fund is a fund established in memory of Eric Dederer by
his grandparents Gary and Pat. Eric’s Fund provides resources
for out of the ordinary expenses for our children such as
birthday parties, school outings, sporting or community events or even a
new coat. Please contact us for how you can add to Eric’s Fund.
We observed a couple birthdays which is always a treat. We celebrated a 17th
birthday during the summer and a second birthday in October. Birthdays are
always a special occasion at our house.
And finally, your support of our sixth annual Bright Start Breakfast was heartwarming. Thank you
for your continued love.
We invite you to join us for our annual Halloween Party October 31 at 4:00 p.m. Its potluck and
this year’s theme is Anime, selected by Angelica.
STAFF APPRECIATION - Christy Moody, RN
CCH has been blessed
with exceptional
employees who
demonstrate their
love and devotion
to the kids, their
families and each
other, every day.
This year, we missed
recognizing one of
our per diem nurses.
Congratulations
Christy on one year
of service!
The CCH children are the very reason for our existence and families and supporters are an important part of our team.
Together, we help each child reach his or her potential.
The year yields its harvest sharing abundant blessings. May your autumn be blessed with fruitfulness and overflowing love.
WELCOME
We were pleased to welcome a new infant into our home this
summer. What a delight to include another infant into our
world. There’s nothing like the cooing of a baby to make the
world seem brighter.
We Lost a Dear Little One
Warm regards, Diane Kolb
He was so very, very special
And was so from the start
We held him in our arms
But mainly in our heart
HOLIDAY ADOPTION
And like a single drop of rain
That on still waters fall,
His life did ripples make
And touched the lives of all.
DELIGHTFUL 17!
Angelica, our lovely teenager, celebrated her 17th birthday
this summer. Her party featured a luau theme complete
with Hawaiian treats and Polynesian dancers. Family, staff
and friends learned the hula and joined in the dancing fun.
Birthdays are a wonderful opportunity to honor our kids.
He’s gone to play with angels
In heaven up above
So we’ll keep our special memories
And treasure them with love

MACY’S SHOP FOR A CAUSE
August 24 featured the annual Macy’s
Shop for a Cause event and Children’s
Country Home participated by hosting
a table at Macy’s – Northgate. We
enjoyed visiting with shoppers and
learned many have a medically fragile
child in their lives as well. This event
realized $415. We look forward to
participating again in 2014. Visit our
website for information about the next
Macy’s Shop for a Cause.
The holidays are rapidly approaching! And, if you are
interested in adopting one of our children and his or her family
for the holidays, please contact Carla, our social worker at
extension 302.
HALLOWEEN
We look forward to
Halloween every year
and this year is no
exception. This year
our party will feature
Anime characters.
Anime is a favorite of
Angelica and for those
of you unfamiliar, Anime
are Japanese animated
productions featuring
hand-drawn or computer animation often characterized by
colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastic themes. So
discover your favorite anime character, dress-up and join us
as we celebrate Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Pot luck ghoulish refreshments and ghostly beverages will be
offered. We look forward to seeing all the kids and kids-atheart Halloween afternoon.
