The main raw material of Upofloor Quartz Tiles is quartz sand. Quartz is the source
of the durability of the tiles. In addition to durability, the unique two-stage hot-cold
compression manufacturing method under high pressure gives the tiles density,
an excellent dimensional stability and exceptional flexibility to ensure that the tiles
do not break easily.
Upofloor Quartz Tiles consist mostly of natural raw
materials; quartz sand and calcium carbonates. The use of
plasticizers is minimal, and only bio based, nontoxic and
phtalate free ones are accepted – this ensures extremely
low emissions into indoor air. The tiles are developed
and designed following the principles of sustainable
development. Besides being long lasting and easy to
replace one by one, they are also completely recyclable.
With regard to indoor air quality, Upofloor
Quartz Tiles are a safe choice. Emissions indoors
are extremely low because the tiles use a bio
based plasticizer, which is phthalate free. Also,
the amount of plastic is about 50 % of the
amount generally used in homogeneous vinyl
floorings. Upofloor Quartz Tiles have been
awarded the FloorScore indoor air certificate.

Mineral hardness can be measured on the Mohs
scale, which includes ten minerals. Diamond is
the world’s hardest mineral. In the Mohs scale,
harder minerals can scratch the surface of softer
minerals. For example, the hardness of a knife
blade corresponds to that of apatite.

Easy to keep clean
The compression technology gives Upofloor Quartz Tiles excellent
dimensional accuracy and stability. This makes the installation of the
tiles quick and effortless. The seams are tight and the finished floor looks
uniform; in the high-contrast designs the seams are barely visible. The tiles
are installed in butt seam, which does not require welding. This helps to
avoid wide, easily soiled seams. Thanks to their flexibility, the tiles do not
break during installation. They conform to slight irregularities of the base
and even on surfaces that curve, which makes installation even easier.
Supplied with a factory PUR
treatment, Upofloor Quartz Tiles
are easy to maintain. The floor does
not require any initial polishing.
The tight surface prevents dirt from
penetrating, also enabling quick
cleaning. Furthermore, the contrast
designs hide dirt efficiently.

The versatile Mosaic range includes 24 different colors. Its pattern and wear surface
consists of granulates made from the same material, which give life and depth to
the surface. Simultaneously, the striped granulates, tinted tone-on-tone with the
base colour, soften the visual look of the floor.
Mosaic, like most of the collections, is available in 12” x 12”, but the whole range is
also available in 24” x 24” size. The large tile is easier to install in large spaces such as
shopping centers and industrial premises.

Featuring the liveliest chip design of the Upofloor Quartz Tiles collections, Mosaic
Classic is at its best in heavily trafficked areas. Its high contrast chip design and
all-round color range are especially well suited for e.g. supermarkets, street level
entrance halls and industrial applications. The durability of the Quartz Tiles is
enhanced by the fact that the marble and chip designs run through the thickness
of the material.

Uni Collection
The Uni collection offers 25 soft unicolored alternatives. Uni
can be used when creating an architectonically peaceful,
timeless look or, on the other hand, to give interior design
more character by combining it with the other designs. In
the planning stage, remember that a monochrome floor

INSTALLATION
Relative humidity of the concrete floor must not exceed RH 85 %. Temperature
during installation and that of subfloor and material should be at least +18 C
(68 F). Apply UPO 5900 High Shear adhesive using a 1/16 x 1/16 x 1/32 U-notch
trowel. In public areas the floor must be rolled to achieve maximum adhesion.
Rolling should be carried out before the adhesive dries. This is done to prevent
the emergence of the adhesive application lines and indentations on the
furnished floor surface. Avoid traffic on the floor and do not move furniture
until the adhesive is totally dry. For more specific adhesive information, please
refer to our adhesives specifications.
Maintenance
Initial cleaning
Remove loose dirt with a mop or vacuum cleaner. Machine-wash the
floor using a combination machine. Use of a scrubbing or floor cleaning
machine is appropriate under certain conditions. A wet vacuum cleaner
should be used to remove any excess water. Rinse the floor carefully but
avoid excessive use of water. Polish the floor with an SHS machine, using a
maintenance agent and damp or spray cleaning methods.
Initial polishing
It is unnecessary to wax new floors since they have been PUR
(polyurethane) treated at the factory.
Alternative NO Finish Maintenance
A no-wax system is available for most applications. Contact us for these options.
Daily maintenance
Applications
Upofloor Quartz Tiles flooring is
recommended for heavy use areas such
as shops and department stores, offices,
educational and industrial premises.
Alternate dry/damp cleaning with wet cleaning methods. Regular
treatment with a combination machine keeps the floor clean and
heavy basic cleaning can be avoided. Use a mild alkaline cleaning and
maintenance agent. You can also clean the floor with an SHS machine and
a maintenance agent. When necessary, machine cleaning with a stronger
maintenance agent is recommended.
Basic cleaning
Basic cleaning should be performed on very soiled floors exposed to heavy
traffic. Clean the floor with an alkaline or strong alkaline detergent. Use a
floor cleaning machine with red or blue pads. Rinse the floor carefully. Use a
maintenance agent to damp-clean the cleaned floor and treat the dry surface
with an SHS machine. When necessary, localized polishing can be carried out
on areas with most traffic.
NOTE!
Floors may be slippery when wet or polished.
