The full crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers made from Everest® G blanks can be individually characterized with Everest® G stains. The Everest® G blanks are clinically proven and are characterized by the following properties: ▪ natural translucence ▪ Biocompatibility ▪ high break resistance ▪ easy to polish When the Everest® G-Ceram is used as a coping material, a complete assortment of veneer materials are available to the technical in Vita Classical® colours. Technical data on the KaVo Everest® G blank CTE (25°C to 500°C) 13.0 x 106 K-1 Flexural strength ≥ 125 Mpa Chemical solubility 20 µg/cm3 Indications for the KaVo Everest® G blank ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ Crown frameworks in the anterior and posterior areas Inlay Onlay Veneer Contraindications for the KaVo Everest® G blank ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ insufficient oral hygiene bruxism Tangential preparation results Bridges with abutments Preparation conditions The following preparation conditions must exist to produce a satisfactory glass ce‐ ramic restoration: The preparation can be made either with a 90° hollow neck preparation, or a shoul‐ der with rounded inner edge. Try to achieve a circular cutting depth of 1 mm. All transitions from the axial to the occlusal or incisal surfaces are to be rounded off with 1 mm or blocked out on the model with KaVo Everest® Scan wax. In the surface module of the construction software, a radius correction can optionally be made. 5/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.1 Preparing and planning the model 4 Processing 4.1 Preparing and planning the model 4.1.1 Preparing the model Apply the criteria of conventional casting when preparing the model and dies. Ob‐ serve care in preparation to ensure a precise fit later All model segments must be designed to be removable. They must separate easily from the base to prevent inaccuracies when later removing the individual dies in the scanner. A conventional plaster base is recommended. White or reflecting plates should not be used. They can negatively influence the measuring results. It is essential to use Everest® Rock to manufacture the dental arch (100 g: (100 g : 20 ml) . Other plasters can impair measurement. The exposure of the preparation margin should not be to strongly undercut. Sharp angles can cause a loss of data at these sites. Do not mark the preparation margin. Waxing in and rounding sharp-edged preparations ensures an easier fit. Everest® Scan Wax or a light cured opaque plastic is recommended for this. Note The dies should not be treated before scanning. Do not use die varnish, die spacer or hardener. 6/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.1 Preparing and planning the model 4.1.2 Planning the model Do not fall below the following CAD parameters when constructing: ▪ Metal margin A = 0.4 ▪ Base thickness B = 0.8 ▪ The transitional area X = 0,7 may not be larger 7/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.2 Model production 4.2 Model production Full crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers are modelled with a special wax and then scanned in. See also: GA KaVo Everest® scan 4100 The Everest® wax set is required for modelling. The wax set consists of plaster hardener, plaster/wax insulation and the special wax that can only be used for mea‐ suring in Everest® scan. Since it leaves residue upon being burned, it may not be used in conventional casting. 8/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.3 Embedding G blanks 4.3 Embedding G blanks ▶ The G blanks should only be embedded when they are required. ▶ Do not embed them in advance. ▶ For Universal Inplast, always mix components A and B at a precise weight ratio of 1:1. ▶ Shake the container well before use. Note Otherwise the homogeneity of the plastic can vary, and the plastic may not cure evenly. ▶ Choose a G positioning appliance appropriate for the G blank size, ▶ Insulate the G positioning appliance well with Vaseline. ▶ Then place the insert on the positioning appliance. Make sure the insert is pre‐ cisely seated. ▶ Fill the insert to its upper edge with Universal Inplast. ▶ Once the insert is fully hardened, remove the positioning appliance by twisting it out of the insert. Note Do not forcefully break it out since this may damage the blank. 9/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.4 Inserting the insert into the KaVo Everest® engine 4.4 Inserting the insert into the KaVo Everest® engine Use the following pins for grinding: ▪ KaVo Everest® diamond grinding pin 1 (Mat. no. 1.001.6000) ▪ KaVo Everest® diamond grinding pin 3 (Mat. no. 1.001.6001) ▶ Fix the insert in the KaVo Everest® engine. ▶ Start the program. See also: Instructions for use for the KaVo Everest® 4140 (Mat. no. 1.002.3165) 10/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.5 Fill cavity 4.5 Fill cavity After grinding the cavity, the program automatically stops so that the inside can be filled. ▶ Do not remove the yoke or insert from the Everest® engine. ▶ The cooling lubricant and grinding residue must be rinsed out well with water. Preferably use a spray bottle. ▶ Then gently dry the cavity with oil-free compressed air. ▶ Use an instrument to apply a thin layer of pattern resin over the entire cavity. Make sure that the layer is not too thick. ▶ Stir the Everest® Universal Inplast in a mixer with equal parts by weight until thin. Make sure that the mixing ratio of components A and B is precisely 1:1. ▶ Shake the container well with the mixing components. ▶ Add the mixed plastic to the Everest® Insert up to the top edge. ▶ Fill in the cavities with Everest® Universal Inplast. ▶ After filling the cavity, set autostart with a delay of 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the Everest® engine starts grinding the occlusion. 11/12 Processing instructions Everest® G-Blank 4 Processing | 4.6 Removing the G restoration from the bed 4.6 Removing the G restoration from the bed CAUTION Hot preheating oven Burn hazard! ▶ Be particularly cautious when working with the preheating oven. ▶ After the grinding process, remove the Everest® Insert from the gripping yoke. ▶ Carefully remove the plastic from the finished crown with a hair drier and remove the piece from the bed. When removing the piece from the bed using force, take care not to damage the thin edges of the crown. or ▶ Slowly heat the Everest® Insert approx. 150°C for 20 minutes in the preheating oven. Then carefully remove the finished piece with a tweezers. ▶ Continue to process the glass ceramic crown or coping. See also: VA Everest® G-Ceram 12/12 1.002.4734 · kb · 20080303 -01 · en
