It is always on his doorstep.” ~Paul Strand “Art is your personal diary where you may color your thoughts and emotions on a page.” ~Sara, Los Cerros Middle School, 1999 www.coeurdaleneartassoc.org CHIHULY EVENT Dale Chihuly: Tradition & Transformation open through July 31. This exhibit was attended by about 12 of the CAA members after the General meeting in May. They were all treated with a free hard cover book by the docent featuring some of his works. The exhibit includes glass as well as drawings the artist created during a session with students on Gonzaga’s campus in 1995. Chihuly visited Gonzaga following the installation of his signature “Red Chandelier,” a permanent fixture that has occupied the interior apex of the Jundt Art Museum since its opening, a gift of Trustee Emeritus Duff and Dorothy Kennedy, and Trustee Emeritus Jim and Joann Jundt. The piece is a destination attraction for people throughout the Northwest and beyond. The members also went to lunch at Anthony's at the Falls. Food was delicious and the falls were beautiful. APRIL ARTISTS SHOWCASE The annual showcase was superbly planned by the Chairman, Kathleen Peterson and her assistant, Carol McCarty. Member artists displayed their art, there were demonstrations, raffles for both wonderful paintings by Sharon Mille and Janet Launhardt and a shopping certificate for $200 to be used to buy art at the show or one of the other events during the year, refreshments and a lovely atmosphere of a French presentation. The ambiance was lovely and the show was enjoyed by those attending.
