MARY CHURCH WILLIAMSTON, MICHIGAN November 22, 2015 “We Learn to Love; We Love to Learn” St. Mary School shares with the Church in the mission of Jesus Christ. In a faith-filled academic environment, children grow in their relationship with God, the Catholic Church, and the community. SCHOOL NEWS The students, teachers, and staff would like to take this opportunity to again thank the parent and parish volunteers who made the Fall Rummage Sale such as success. This year’s sale earned $7,500.00 for the school’s general operating fund! That is a huge increase over last year’s sale, and we are so grateful for the hard work and great donations that made such earnings possible. We are so very blessed to have your time, talent, and treasures. God bless you all. The students and teachers, through the wonderful baking talents of our St. Mary Parents, have been working on a service project to raise money for “Trees for Troops,” an organization which provides Christmas trees for military personnel and their families. The students from grades PK/DK, K/1, and 2/3 have each sponsored a bake sale at lunchtime. Grades 4/5 will sponsor their bake sale on Monday, November 23, at lunchtime. Thus far the students have raised 214.03, which will purchase 8 Christmas trees. Once the last bake sale is completed the funds will be forwarded to “Trees for Troops” and the Christmas trees will be delivered to military personnel and their families before Christmas. We have been averaging enough money for 2 trees per bake sale so we anticipate that 10 military families will have a Christmas tree from the students at St. Mary School. A huge thank you goes out to all of our St. Mary School parents who have baked treats for these bake sales! As we look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday week, St. Mary School students, faculty and staff would like to wish our entire St. Mary parish family a blessed Thanksgiving Day. May the Lord bless you all with the gifts of peace and prosperity.
