Welcome Dear Friend, Thank you for your interest in becoming a Team Leader for the Atlanta Humane Society’s 2015 Walk for the Animals! We are expecting 4,000+ participants and their pets on October 18 at Atlantic Station to save and celebrate Georgia’s pets. With every dollar you and your team raise, you are helping a homeless animal find a forever home. As a Team Leader, you will help spread the message that together we can make a big difference. As part of our largest fundraising event, the 2015 Walk for the Animals teams will be raising critical funds to help the Atlanta Humane Society. We serve more than 25,000 animals each year including placing approximately 8,000 animals in new homes, performing 12,500 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, seeing more than 2,500 animals in our Veterinary Center, assisting law enforcement and other agencies in rescuing close to 1,000 animals and providing behavior training to more than 1,000 animals and their owners. Dress in same color shirts, same hats or order your own T-shirts (T-shirts will be available to purchase at the Walk). Dress your animals the same! Create a team name. Have fun creating your “brand!” Review this checklist: Review to make sure you haven’t missed any important tasks. Get creative with recruitment: Add a team link webpage to your email signature, distribute brochures to colleagues in your office and reach out through social media. Make sure to encourage them to bring friends and family members. Remind your teammates: Remind your team where you will be meeting and to bring with them any donations they have not processed online.
