PATTERN NOTE:
This pattern is written for use with our handpainted yarns
PAOLA
100% Extra Fine Merino Yarn
and KID MOHAIR - SILK Yarn
70% Kid Mohair / 30% Silk
DESIGNER NOTES
The Shawl is knitted lengthwise.
The two yarns are used alternately for one row.
Therefor the circular needle needs to be
slid to the side where the yarn is for that row.
CAST ON
Use both yarns together (2-stranded) to CO 238 stitches.
BAND
Keep working with both yarns and knit 8 rows
PATTERN REPEAT
1. row: knit this row with the Merino.
2. row: work with the Kid Mohair and knit 4 sts, [YO, P2tog] to the last four sts, knit 4 sts
Repeat these 2 rows throughout.
Knit all yarn up, but keep enough yarn for the band. Knit 8 rows 2-stranded and bind off loosely.
Crochet one row on each of the small sides for a great edge.
For optional fringes:
Wind the remaining Kid Mohair Yarn around a book (approx. 16 inches circumference) and count the
revolution. Cut it off from the book, divide the ends in an even number of strands for one fringe. Use a
crochet hook to thread the fringes through the edge and tie.
Hand wash your shawl and block it.
