He lived about 800 years ago when King Richard was the King of England. Richard was often away from England and his brother, Prince John, ruled England. Prince John was a bad man – he loved money and he took taxes from the people. He took more and more and more money from them. Robin Hood didn’t like Prince John. He wanted Richard to be the king again. Prince John took Robin’s land and money away from him so Robin went to live in Sherwood Forest. Some of Robin’s friends went to live in the forest, too. When rich people travelled through the forest, Robin and his men stopped them and took their gold. They gave some of the gold to poor people and some of the gold to King Richard’s friends. Prince John’s soldiers wanted to find Robin and put him in prison. Robin and his men hid from the soldiers in Sherwood Forest. Robin and his men wore green clothes because green is difficult to see in a forest. In 1194, Richard came out of prison and went back to England. He gave Robin his land back and Robin Hood was a national hero. b) Complete the sentences done check Vervollständige die Sätze 1. His only friend was his dog, Shep. Mummy, that dog’s barking at me again. When Shep saw Tray in the garden, he barked because he was so happy. He wanted to play with her. But Tracy was frightened of Shep because he was so big and loud. She always ran into the house when Shep was in the garden. Please hurry up. I think her leg is broken. Shep saw Tracy and ran to her. Tracy was really frightened. But Shep didn’t bite her. He took her rucksack from her ran home with it. He took it to Tracy’s mother. She went with Shep to the cliffs and saw her daughter. She telephoned for a doctor and they waited for an ambulance. Where’s our neighbour, Mummy? One day a family came to live in the house next door to Mr Barlow’s house. There was a man and his wife and their little girl, Tracy. Mr Barlow saw them in the garden – but he didn’t speak to them. Help! Help! One day Tracy went for a walk by the sea. It began to rain and she started to run home but she slipped. She fell down the cliff and broke her leg. She shouted and shouted by no-one came. Shep was in the garden and he heard Tracy. He ran to the cliffs. It’s all right, Shep – we’re all home again now. One week later, Tracy felt a lot better. Her mother and father – and Mr Barlow – went to the hospital and brought Tracy home.
