///Pibe Cosmo
is the first effort from minimal techno cumbia artist El Remolón. El Remolón brings
a global dance sensibility to digital cumbia and electro-reggaeton cuts. Tracks with field recordings
of tribal chant alternate with original beats that underscore vocals by legendary Argentine artists
Pablo Lescano of Damas Gratis and Ale Sergi of Miranda, along with underground favorites Fauna,
Blitto y Vanesa Strauch.
With hypnotic beats influenced by everything from Colombian cumbia, cumbia villera (cumbia from
the slums of Buenos Aires), and reggaetón to dub, IDM, and minimal techno, El Remolón cuts his
own vision of electronica for global dance floors. His first tour of Europe, coming this fall, is sure
to make fans and influence dance people as he and fellow Zizek artists go from Oslo World Music
Festival in Norway down to Spain’s Zaragoza Latin Music Festival and everywhere in between.

El Remolón is the alterego
of Andrés Schteingart, a
producer who tucks hints of
Latin American rhythms
like cumbia into a solid
base of electronic music.
After ten years in the Buenos
Aires music scene producing
minimal techno and IDM
under the pseudonym Drole,
El Remolon or “the lazy one,”
evolved creating mediumtempo tracks that make great
use of space. His sound is laid-back but heavy-hitting with a European dance floor sensibility.
Schteingart´s strength is in his own evolution as a producer, code-switching minimal techno into
the dialect of minimal cumbia. The artist borrows off-center audio from exotic sources, streaming
innovation and rebirth through his first full-length, Pibe Cosmo.

///About ZZK Records
ZZK Records is a home grown, artists’ collective launched
recently out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. ZZK Records sprang fullgrown from Zizek Club, the weekly party in Palermo, capital of
South American hip, where visiting artists and resident deejays
attract consistent crowds of global, street music fans. At Zizek,
cumbia gets thrown in a sonic blender with minimal electronica,
dancehall, reggaeton and dub mashups, and original beats.
ZZK Records artists and Zizek Club are enjoying international
attention after a SXSW appearance and follow up U.S., Canadian,
and Mexican tour that included a month of consecutive raucous

Buenos Aires has grown Zizek into a full-fledged outlet of mayhem. From long nights of party heat
in the capital of South American culture, Zizek brings a blend of old and new, rural and urban,
where the first and third worlds share the dance floor and make plans to hook up after the party.
