Nachhaltigkeit hat viele Facetten, sie lebt nicht vom
schnellen Erfolg. In unserem Familienunternehmen übernehmen wir aktiv Verantwortung für die Menschen, die
Region und die Umwelt. Wir handeln persönlich:
Man achtet aufeinander, berät sich und entscheidet in
Absprache. Für einen Arbeitsplatz, der von Lebensqualität
geprägt sein soll. Ebenso liegt uns die Stärkung der Re­
gion seit Jahren am Herzen. So werden alle Halbach-Printmedien unweit unseres Firmenstandorts in Remscheid,
klimaneutral und auf Papier aus nachhaltiger Forstwirtschaft, gedruckt. Ökostrom erzeugen wir mit Solarzellen
auf dem Webereidach. In der Druckerei und Färberei arbeitet die Anlage für Wasserrückgewinnung. Und auch alle
Farben und Chemikalien für die Veredelung ent­sprechen
natürlich den aktuellen Ökostandards – bewusste Entscheidungen für einen langfristigen Gewinn.

Remscheid, in climate-neutral processes using paper from sustainable
forestry. We generate green electricity using solar panels on the roof of
the weaving works. In the printing and dyeing works a water recycling
unit is in operation. And all of the dyes and chemicals used satisfy
the current ecological standards – conscious decisions for long-term
benefits.

sind Gimpen. Bei der
Fertigung von Gimpen werden
Garne eng um sogenannte Seelen gewunden. Die
Seele kann unterschiedlich stark sein und aus verschie
denen Materialien
bestehen, zum Beispiel aus Bau
mwolle, Jute, Papier
oder auch Draht. Das Garn zum
Umwickeln der Seele
kommt von Spulen, die sich auf
schnell drehenden
Tellern befinden. Je nach Dick
e der Seele entstehen unterschiedlich starke Kordeln.
Auch bei den Materialien

are concerned. The Halbach range
includes both glossy acetate cords
and natural jute and linen cords,
as well as a new addition flecked
cord produced from matt polyester

In other words, for everything at
Halbach related to creativity and
design. Her love of design is not
restricted to her job, however. Momo always has an eye
for special and beautiful things. When she discovers unusual everyday
items, bizarre natural forms or simply inspirational shapes and colours,
she gets the urge to create something with them. She is particularly fond
of viewing things from a different angle and giving them a new purpose,
different to their original function. The example with the used wooden

Gestalt angenommen. Dazu hat sie gleich mehrere ausgediente
Paletten zum Pflanztisch zusammengebaut. Gut durchdacht und
stabil gebaut, wird er zum langlebigen Allrounder. Extras wie
Einlegeböden und die Rückwand sind praktisch und bieten gleichzeitig Stauraum. Und wenn auf dem Grill die Kohlen glühen, findet
auf dem Tisch das Partybüfett Platz!
The cool pallet construction was a success for Halbach designer Momo Kösling. This
involved taking several surplus pallets and working them into a table for plants. Well
thought-out and sturdy, it is a hardwearing all-rounder. Extras such as shelves and the
rear panel are practical and provide storage space. And when the charcoal is glowing
on the barbeque the table is just the place for the party buffet!

Wer kennt nicht das typische Zeichen des Modelabels Benetton? Zu Ehren des
Firmengründers Luciano hat das Architektur- und Designstudio Pereira Miguel
aus Lissabon den Benetton-Chair entworfen. Das abstrahierte Markenzeichen
erinnert an ein aufgeklapptes Möbiusband. Die schlichte Schlaufenform fasziniert, weil sie das Gefühl von Unendlichkeit vermittelt. Die Sitzfläche verbindet
leuchtend-peppige Farben mit traditioneller Makramé-Knüpftechnik. Das macht
den Freischwinger zum echten Kunstwerk.
Who is not familiar with the typical features of the fashion label Benetton? In honour of company
founder Luciano the Lisbon-based architecture and design studio Pereira Miguel has designed the
Benetton chair. The abstract trademark is reminiscent of an open Möbius strip. The simple form of the
loop is fascinating, as it conveys a feeling of endlessness. The seat combines bold, radiant colours
with traditional macramé. This makes the self-supporting chair a true work of art.

Man nehme: Einmalbesteck aus Holz, Flaschenkorken und
Farbe. Und kreiert aus diesen Zutaten im Handumdrehen
individuelles Partybesteck. Kleine Motive auf den Korken
zeichnen und mit einem Cuttermesser und Fingerspitzengefühl ausschneiden. Mit Hilfe farbiger Stempelkissen
oder verdünnter Acrylfarbe kommen die Muster dann auf
Messer, Löffel und Gabeln. Peppig wird’s mit selbstklebenden Filzaccessoires.
Take wooden disposable cutlery, wine corks and paint. And use these
materials to create individual party cutlery in the twinkling of an eye.
Draw small motifs on the corks and cut them out with a cutter knife and
a little dexterity. Coloured stamp pads or thinned acrylic paint can then
