with their unique play of colours and distinctive scent, the
essence of the Provence. The cultivation and processing
of lavender have a long tradition in the South of France.
Lavender has always been one of the most important fragrances for the production of perfumes, and originally the
wild lavender growing in the South of France was used. Due
to the increasing demand, however, targeted cultivation
became very attractive for the farmers in the Provence.
There is a difference between the true lavender (Lavendula
Officinalis), which is cultivated at an altitude between 600
and 800 m, and the Lavandin, a crossing that can be cultivated less lavishly at an altitude between 400 and 600 m.
Since the true lavender is of much higher quality we only
use this one for our lavender range!
