Von der Internationalisierung der
Automechanika, die wir seit Ende
der Neunzigerjahre vorantreiben,

Ausgaben immer weiter gestiegen
und hat ein Rekordniveau von rund

Branche die Nase vorn. Die aktuellen
Trends in der Nutzfahrzeugindustrie
im Jahr 2016 sind pragmatischer und
vom wirtschaftlichen Druck ebenso
getrieben wie von dem Wunsch nach
mehr Sicherheit und einer besseren
Umweltverträglichkeit. Die Vision vom
fahrerlosen Lkw ist greifbar nahe.
What is the automotive industry
thinking about the most right now?
Connectivity, alternative drives,
automated driving and mobility services are the trending topics at this
year’s Automechanika. Many of our
exhibitors are presenting products
and concepts that meet customer
needs and vehicle requirements with
increasing efficiency and individualisation because they are automated
and virtualised in parts. In the
Festhalle, we are giving “Tomorrow’s
Service & Mobility” a prominent
position, and it is well worth taking a
look during the next five days of the
event. There will be a chance to see
how Germany compares to other
countries on the international innovation map at the „Connected Mobility“ conference on 15 September.
Automechanika is fully booked once
again. What makes the trade fair so
successful?
We have been promoting the internationalisation of Automechanika
since the end of the 1990s, and this
benefits its home base in Frankfurt a
great deal. The number of visitor
nations has kept on rising at the
latest editions of the fair and has
reached a record level of around
170 countries. Our trade fair brand
is known all over the world, and it
stands for a whole industry’s
strength in innovation, for consistent
brand management and sustainable
brand marketing. What’s more, our
Automechanika trade fairs stand for
high-quality opportunities for training and further professional development as well as a supporting programme that informs our visitors
about the latest technologies and
trends in a variety of ways.
Is Truck Competence set to be as
important again as it was two years
ago?
Yes. Once again, more than 1,000
exhibitors are presenting products
from the commercial vehicles segment across all product groups.
When it comes to autonomous driving, this section of the industry is
way ahead. The current trends in the
commercial vehicles industry in
2016 are more pragmatic and
driven both by commercial pressures
and the desire for more safety and
improved environmental sustainability. The vision of the driverless truck
is within reach.
Elektrisch fahren
und laden
Die Elektromobilität bedeutet für viele Kfz-Betriebe noch völliges Neuland. Die
Automechanika beleuchtet dieses Thema zusammen mit der Ökolife Energie
GmbH in der Halle 2 und auf dem Außenparcours vor der Festhalle. Hier können sich interessierte Besucher umfassend zu Ladeinfrastruktur und Stromversorgung sowie zur Finanzierung einer eigenen Ladestation informieren. Ökolife
zeigt zum Beispiel, wie sich ein Werkstatt- oder Parkplatzdach mit einer Solaranlage ausstatten lässt und eigene Zwischenspeicher den Strom für Elektroautos
nutzbar machen. Darüber hinaus informiert das Unternehmen über Fördermöglichkeiten für Ladesäulen und Elektroautos. Außerdem bietet Ökolife auf dem
Außenparcours eine große Auswahl von E-Fahrzeugen, die auch für Probefahrten bereitstehen – zum Beispiel der BYD e6, ein Pritschen-Lkw von Emovum und
ein E-Spyder.
Asien kompakt
Die Automechanika hat 2016 erstmals das Angebot asiatischer Aussteller in
der neuen „World of Asia“ gebündelt und speziell ausgewiesen. Die neue
World of Asia erstreckt sich über die Produktbereiche Electronics & Systems
und Accessories & Customizing auf der Agora und in Halle 4.2 sowie erstmals
Repair & Maintenance und Parts & Components in Halle 10.1.
Dass die Automechanika für asiatische Unternehmen erfolgreich ist, zeigen
Beispiele von Ausstellern, die die Messe bereits seit mehr als zehn Jahren nutzen. Sie freuen sich besonders darüber, dass sie in Frankfurt immer wieder
ihre Stammkunden aus ganz Europa treffen.
Driving and charging electric vehicles
Electro-mobility is still uncharted territory for many automotive service centres.
Automechanika is shedding light on this topic together with Ökolife Energie
GmbH in Hall 2 and on the outdoor track in front of the Festhalle. Here interested visitors can obtain extensive information on charging infrastructure,
power supply and the options for financing their own charging station. Ökolife
will be demonstrating how a workshop or car park roof can be fitted with a
solar power system and its own interim storage system so that the electricity can
be used to power electric cars. The company can also provide information on
funding opportunities for charging points and e-cars. In addition, Ökolife has a
large selection of e-vehicles on the outdoor track that are ready to take for a test
drive – including a BYD e6, a flatbed truck by emovum and an e-Spyder.

A brief tour of Asia
Asian exhibitors have been grouped together for the first time at Automechanika 2016 in the new “World of Asia” and special attention drawn to
their product ranges. The new World of Asia covers the Electronics & Systems and Accessories & Customizing product groups on the Agora and in
Hall 4.2, and for the first time it includes Repair & Maintenance and Parts &
Components in Hall 10.1.
Automechanika has been a great success for Asian companies, as the exhibitors that have been represented at the trade fair for more than ten years
demonstrate. They especially welcome the opportunity to catch up with their
long-standing customers from across Europe in Frankfurt.

Ausbildung, Diagnose und ein Ehrenpreis
Der ZDK greift auf seiner Sonderschau unter dem Motto „Service 4.0“
die aktuellen Trends der Branche auf.
So stellt das Kfz-Gewerbe in Halle
9.0 in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma
Saxon Junkalor ein praxisgerechtes
Messverfahren für Otto- und Dieselmotoren vor. Der Reinigung von
Klimaanlagen widmet sich der Verband gemeinsam mit Tunap. Darüber
hinaus geht es um die neue Diagnoseplattform Euro-DFT, mit der KfzBetriebe die Original-Software von
zehn Pkw-Marken zur Diagnose und
Programmierung von Steuergeräten
nutzen können.
Außerdem verleiht der ZDK in diesem Jahr auf seiner Sonderschau erstmals den Athena-Preis (heute um
13 Uhr). Geehrt werden damit Auszubildende, die sich durch Zivilcourage oder besonderes soziales Engagement ausgezeichnet haben.
Die Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten im
Kfz-Gewerbe zeigt der ZDK in der
Galleria. Schülerinnen und Schüler
können sich hier über die Autoberufe
informieren und selbst einen Elektro-
motor zusammenbauen und in einem
Fahrsimulator echtes Rennfahrerfeeling erleben.
Wie viel Fachwissen bei der Restaurierung von Oldtimern notwendig ist,
lässt sich in Halle 11.0 erfahren.
Unter dem Motto „Wir können Oldtimer.“ präsentieren mehrere Partner
ihre fachliche Kompetenz und informieren über Aufbereitung und Smart
Repair sowie Lacke, Hilfsmittel und
Werkstoffe.
Training,
diagnostics and
a prize
The ZDK, the German Federation for
Motor Trades and Repairs, responds
to current industry trends at its special show under the slogan “Service
4.0”. In collaboration with Saxon
Junkalor, the trade body for the
automotive industry is presenting a
measurement process for petrol and
diesel engines designed to meet
real-world conditions in Hall 9.0.
The association takes a look at
cleaning air conditioning systems
with Tunap. It also introduces the
new diagnostics platform Euro-DFT,
which enables automotive service
centres to use the original software
for ten car brands to diagnose and
programme control units.
The ZDK is also awarding the
Athena Prize for the first time this
year at its special show, which takes
place today at 1 pm. The award is
presented to apprentices who have
demonstrated great civil courage or
exceptional commitment to social
causes.
Training opportunities in the automotive trades are presented by the ZDK
in the Galleria. Here school pupils
can find out about automotive professions and try their hand at assembling an electric motor. They can
also experience what it really feels
like to be a racing driver in a driving simulator.
Just how much specialist knowledge
is needed to restore vintage cars is
revealed in Hall 11.0. Under the
slogan “We know classic cars”, a
number of the ZDK’s partners present their technical expertise and
provide information on detailing,
smart repairs, paintwork, tools and
materials.

Infotainment to
retrofit
Car Media World, organised by the
European Mobile Media Association
(EMMA), has moved to a new location. This year you will find the world
of infotainment in Hall 3.1 with a
more attractive layout. Industry professionals can find out about the most
advanced in-car infotainment from all
manufacturers and experience it for
themselves installed in vehicles. ACV,
Audio Design, Axion and Clarion
are at the fair to present their innovations and highlight the opportunities
and benefits that the retrofit market
for in-vehicle music, entertainment,
connectivity, navigation systems and
telephony offers and how parking
assist systems, wireless smartphone
chargers and other convenience systems can be retrofitted safely and
with a flawless look.
ACV, for example, is expanding its
product range with a series of new
camera systems. Available as front,
side and reversing cameras or as
cameras to replace the third brake
light, the manoeuvring assistants
give the driver an overview when
making complex manoeuvres.
Clarion provides a new multimedia

Travel made easy: Lufthansa (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Swiss) offers you an exclusive, free luggage service during your visit
to Automechanika 2016. You can drop off your baggage at the trade fair.
Lufthansa will organise the transportation of your baggage to the airport –
including bag drop – free of charge. All you have to do is present your
boarding pass, which you can send to your mobile device or print out
yourself online at the Lufthansa counter in the exhibition centre.
After checking in online, drop off your baggage for flights with airlines in
the Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss and Brussels Airlines) on
your day of departure at the Lufthansa counter at the City Entrance to the
trade fair no later than three hours before your departure time.
Then you can relax as you travel from the exhibition centre to Frankfurt
Airport and avoid having to wait at the baggage drop-off at the airport.
On arrival at your final destination, you will collect your luggage as usual
from the baggage reclaim area as usual. Pre-registration is not required.

seems that the latest industry trends
for tomorrow’s trucks can be boiled
down to these four key ideas. But if
you take a closer look, it is clear to
see that the truck industry already

Ausfahrt Zukunft: Die Sonderausstellung
Wie sich die Mobilität und der
dazugehörige Service in den nächsten Jahren entwickeln werden, zeigt
die Messe Frankfurt in einer Sonderausstellung mit dem Namen
„Tomorrow’s Service & Mobility“.
Dieser „Hotspot für Innovationen“,
wie ihn der Veranstalter nennt, befin-
det sich in der Festhalle der Messe
Frankfurt.
Fahrzeughersteller, Zulieferer und
Start-ups präsentieren zukunftsweisende Produkte Dienstleistungen aus
den Bereichen Connectivity, alternative Antriebe, automatisiertes Fahren, Mobility Services und Smart
Data Analytics. Noch viel wichtiger
dürften vielen Fachbesuchern die
Themen Fernwartung, Telediagnose
und Batterietechnik sein. Und
schließlich können die Besucher
einen Blick in die Werkstatt der
Zukunft werfen.
Die Festhalle soll vor allem jungen
Vorreitern und Pionieren eine Bühne

und Ladebordwand. Trotz 100 Prozent Elektroantrieb trägt er über 30
Prozent mehr Nutzlast als das dieselbetriebene Serienfahrzeug mit Standard-Kofferaufbau. Das neue
Geschäftsfeld „Orten Electric Trucks“
ist eines der Start-up-Unternehmen,
die sich in der Festhalle präsentieren. Das traditionell aus dem Fahrzeugbau stammende Unternehmen

The idea behind the Festhalle is to
provide a platform for young trailblazers and pioneers. Creative startups and young, innovative companies from Germany present their
solutions and products at a joint
stand, sponsored by the Federal
Ministry for Economic Affairs and
Energy.
One of the exhibition highlights will
be a 7.5-tonne truck fitted with an
electric drive, the “Orten E 75 AT”
with a lightweight body box and tail
lift. Although it has a 100 % electrical powertrain, the truck has a payload that is over 30 % greater than
the series-production, diesel-powered version with a standard box
body. The new “Orten Electric
Trucks” business unit is one of the
start-ups represented in the Festhalle.
The company has its roots in traditional vehicle manufacturing and is
collaborating with EFA-S Elektrofahrzeuge Stuttgart on this project.
Another example of groundbreaking
engineering is presented by ZF. The
Advanced Urban Vehicle is a concept car that demonstrates the potential inherent in intelligently connecting individual chassis, drive and
driver assistance systems.

für das Handwerk, um einem Fachkräftemangel in der Kfz-Branche entgegenzuwirken? Diese Frage möchte

Weg stellt sie das „Cuno-Bistram-Projekt“ vor. Gezeigt werden dort zwei
der alten Cuno-Bistram-Fahrzeuge,

Yourmove: How classic cars can
inspire the next generation
One of the major future challenges
facing the industry is not a technical
challenge but a demographic one.
How can we inspire children to join
the automotive trades and tackle the
shortage of skilled workers in the sector? This is the question that the training initiative Yourmove has set out to
address. It presents the “Cuno Bistram Project” as one possible answer
and has two of the old Cuno Bistram
vehicles on display at its stand. These
vehicles delighted children in the
1950s and 1960s as amusement
cars at the zoo Tierpark Hagenbeck
in Hamburg. Modern versions of the
cars are also on show at the stand –
including an elegant electric racing
car. These replicas were developed
and built by school pupils as part of
a long-term project by two schools
and the company Autostadt from
Wolfsburg. At Automechanika, Yourmove presents working with the next
generation as the way forwards as
well. Visitors can watch live as young
people build a hybrid Cuno Bistram
car at the fair.

If workshop professionals need to replace a tyre fitted with a VDO RediSensor due to damage or wear, they can now use the new 668-1 sensor
mounting tool by Hazet, the Remscheid-based manufacturer of quality

man-hours. This is where the Dekra service portal comes in. Automotive

Der Rostbeseitiger Brunox dringt
gegenüber herkömmlichen Rostumwandlern bis zu zehn Mal tiefer in
die Rostporen ein. Er stoppt die Korrosion und bildet eine Eisen-TanninEpoxy-Grundierschicht. Das Produkt
bringt einen homogenen Film (keine
Pinselspuren) hervor und lässt sich
schnell und einfach auftragen. In nur
drei Schritten beseitigt der Anwender
unterwünschten Korrosion: Als Erstes
entfernt er losen Rost, dann trägt er
zwei Schichten Brunox Epoxy mit

The rust remover Brunox penetrates
up to ten times deeper into rust
pores than conventional rust converters. It stops corrosion and forms an
iron-tannin epoxy primer coating.
The product produces a homogeneous film (no brush marks) and is
quick and easy to apply. It takes just
three steps to remove unwanted corrosion: first, remove any loose rust;
then apply two coats of Brunox
Epoxy with a brush or spray on
three to four coats using the handy
aerosol. Once the coating has dried
completely, the topcoat can be
applied directly – there is no need
for rinsing or sanding. The rust converter is free from heavy metals and

How to make spot repairs efficiently
The painting systems manufacturer Sehon from Gechingen is organising the
free training event “Repair paintwork and finish” at the trade fair, together
with Glasurit, Farecla, L-Tec and Sata. The training session outlines when
automotive service centres can efficiently make spot repairs. Participants will
find out how they can repair minor damage quickly. Sehon is providing the
paint-spray lines for the event.
The system specialists will also be presenting their latest paint-spray line, the
SE-Professional Futura. It consumes up to 80 per cent less power than standard painting booths. This is enabled by the integration of a combined heat
and power unit, photovoltaics and solar thermal energy, through all-yearround heat recovery, energy-saving modules with bypass technology, a fully
automatic booth airflow control and an automatic air pressure regulation
system.

has now been extended with new
additions. The new models can
handle loads of up to 4.5 and 5.5
tonnes respectively. The lifts impress

For example, the lifting spindle has
a high thread pitch. This enables a

With Werbas blue, the IT solutions provider Werbas presents its first webbased workshop software. It aims to offer users benefits without them having to forgo the ease of use they enjoyed with the previous locally
installed application. For example, user data is still stored on their own
server. To help workshops find OE parts more easily in the future, the company is offering a new OE parts finder. The user can locate the right original part in just a few steps: the vehicle data required for the search is
transmitted automatically. Using a visual display of function groups the

The new LTB 300 workshop bay by Beissbarth is suitable for a range of test functions in automotive service centres. Levelling technology in the vehicle test bay means that unevenness and differences in height in the workshop
floor of up to 40 millimetres can be compensated for across the length of the bay of up to six metres. Used in combination with the MLD 815 headlight tester, the workshop can perform headlight tests in accordance with the current periodic inspection regulations. The digital device is suitable for all headlights and light types. The company

Innovative hydraulic
lifting systems
The lift specialist Longus is presenting a world first in two-column lifts for passenger vehicles and transporters. The
CL-2.40 four-tonne lift has a hydraulic aggregate on each column – hence there is no mechanical or hydraulic
connection between the columns, nor are there any sheaves, guide pulleys or limit switches. The electronic measuring system is maintenance-free. Absolute position measurement for synchronisation control ensures that the vehicle
is lifted precisely. Vehicles from a Smart to a Sprinter/Crafter in the long version can be lifted with an additional
pick-up point. Installation of the lift is also state-of-the-art: it can be set up very quickly. Clearly indicated couplings
have to be connected to each other, but to do so, the installer does not even need to open the switch box or

causing any damage. For special

with a roller system. Instead of being
stored vertically, the wheels rest on
rollers. When a warehouse
employee pulls the front wheel in a
set out of the rack, the remaining
wheels automatically roll forwards.

This is reflected in a number of innovations. True to the motto “One for all”,

Elring unterstützt die Kfz-Betriebe nicht nur mit einem breiten Angebot an Ersatzteilen, sondern auch mit Fachinformationen und Schulungen. Elring supports automotive service centres not only with a wide range of replacement parts, but also with technical
information and training. In this area, the company will primarily concentrate on e-learning programmes in the
future. In addition to the Elring Academy, it is launching a virtual classroom. Customers can use this classroom to
undertake further training without having to be present at an event.
Its replacement parts portfolio also has some new features. Elring has improved the thermal stability of its sealing
compounds. They can now withstand temporary exposure to temperatures of more than 300 °C instead of 180 °C
as previously. An online tool indicates which is the right sealing compound to use for a particular purpose. Also
on show is a cross section of the Elring gasket range and OE products from the portfolio supplied by its parent

Remy ist einer der wenigen Originalgerätehersteller von Anlassern und
Lichtmaschinen, der auch differenzierte Angebote für den Aftermarket
führt. Früher hatte man entweder
neue oder überholte Teile. Heute stellt

dar. Deshalb gibt es mit „Remy

Fahrzeuge ohne Zahnriemenantrieb mit Wasserpumpen
von Contitech reparieren. Die
Produktpalette reicht von der
elektrischen Wasserpumpe für
BMW-Modelle bis zu einfacheren Pumpen, die im
Nebentrieb laufen und je nach Anwendung mit einem Nebentriebs-Kit von
Contitech kombiniert werden können.
Als Alternative zum bekannten Riemenspannungstester (Belt Tension Tester,
BTT) stellt Contitech das Frequenzmessgerät auf der Automechanika im
Kompaktformat vor. Mit dem kompakten Frequenzmessgerät lässt sich die
korrekte Spannung im Riementrieb auch in beengten Verhältnissen einstellen. Baugröße und Funktion sind aktuell einmalig auf dem Markt, betont
der Hersteller.
It doesn’t always have to be a kit
In addition to its complete packages, Contitech now provides pumps as
single parts for the aftermarket. With this extension of its product portfolio,
workshops can now repair vehicles without a toothed belt drive with water
pumps from Contitech. The product portfolio ranges from an electric water
pump for BMW models to simpler pumps for the accessory drive that can
be combined with a Contitech accessory drive kit depending on the specific application.
As an alternative to its well-known Belt Tension Tester BTT, Contitech is
presenting a compact frequency gauge at Automechanika. The compact
gauge enables the correct tension to be set in a belt drive even in tight
spaces. The manufacturer says that its combination of size and functionality are currently unique on the market.

Fahrwerkexperte Bilstein präsentiert
auf der Automechanika in Frankfurt
Serienersatzlösungen für Stoßdämpfer, Federn und Komplettfahrwerke,
unter anderem elektronisch geregelte Dämpfer aus der DamptronicModellfamilie, Luftfedermodule und
ein neues Kompressorenprogramm.
Nach eigenen Angaben hat Bilstein
als erster und einziger Hersteller
weltweit Serienersatzteile für die
Electronic Damping Control (EDC)

Teure Lagerhaltung war gestern. Zur Automechanika 2016 erweitert ST Suspensions, eine Marke von KW Automotive, das Produktprogramm seines
Spurverbreiterungssystems DZX. Dieses ermöglicht die Montage sowohl an
Radnaben mit Stehbolzen als auch solchen mit Radschrauben. Mit nur 36
Sätzen Distanzscheiben, 45 unterschiedlichen Adapterringen, den Schaftmuttern und Radschrauben sind über 19.000 Kombinationen für die Spurverbreiterungsmontage möglich. So kann man zum ersten Mal für jedes
Fahrzeug in 2,5er-Schritten von 5 bis 25 Millimetern pro Rad Distanzscheiben montieren. Einfach ausgedrückt, kann die Spur jedes Fahrzeugs von
10 bis 50 Millimeter pro Achse verbreitert werden.
Track widening for all vehicles
Expensive stock-keeping is a thing of the past. At Automechanika 2016,
ST Suspensions, a KW Automotive brand, is expanding the range of its
DZX wheel spacer system. The system enables spacers to be fitted on both
wheel hubs with wheel studs and hubs with wheel bolts. Over 19,000
combinations of wheel spacers are possible with just 36 sets of spacers,
45 different adapter rings, the shaft nuts and wheel bolts. For the first
time, spacers from 5 to 25 millimetres thick can be fitted on each wheel in
2.5-millimetre increments. Put simply, track width on every vehicle can be
increased by 10 to 50 millimetres per axle.

suspension expert Bilstein is presenting OE replacement solutions for
shock absorbers, springs and complete suspension systems, including
electronically adjustable dampers
from the Damptronic series, air suspension modules and a new compressor range. According to the
company, Bilstein is the first and only
manufacturer in the world to supply
OE replacement parts for BMW’s
Electronic Damping Control (EDC).
Damptronic components are also
fitted in the Porsche Macan, and
these are available as replacement
parts as well. Also in planning is the
B4 air suspension module. All components are compatible with the
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system. And because it
is not just the air suspension that may
eventually fail but also the associated compressor, Bilstein also provides replacement compressors.

Wer seine Mehrmarkenkompetenz im Nutzfahrzeugservice ausbauen möchte,

Any automotive repair shop wanting to expand its multi-brand expertise in
the commercial vehicles segment can become a workshop partner of Alltrucks Truck & Trailer Service. The workshop concept aims to ensure a consistent external appearance at Alltrucks workshops. The workshop brand is
operated by the automotive and commercial vehicles suppliers Bosch, KnorrBremse and ZF. They provide their service partners with training, technical
information, a marketing package and a quality management system. The
training courses are continually updated and enhanced by the system headquarters.
Workshop owners and employees can access a multi-brand database for
commercial vehicles via the Alltrucks portal. Here they can find repair manuals, fitting instructions, information on recalls, working and setting values,
service schedules and wiring diagrams.
The oil brand Veedol has a long tradition, and it is launching its new
Vintage line of motor oils. The Vintage line has been designed to help
workshops to raise their profile in the highly competitive service market by offering special services and products. Lubricants play a particularly crucial role in the constantly growing market for servicing and
repairing vintage and classic cars. The company is therefore extending its line-up with the new Vintage line of motor oils specially formulated for the needs of older vehicles. The mildly blended Veedol Motor
Oil HD 20W60 has been specially developed to meet the requirements of old engines with oil filters from year of manufacture 1950

Dmitry and his partner Elena from Russia
are top performers in the art of balletic
juggling. The duo provide a unique and
thrilling mixture of ball juggling skills,
acrobatics and dance. Their breathtaking
choreography tells of a love story with its
roots in the artisan culture of Moscow and
Kiev. The ballet dancer and juggler met
at the world famous Christmas circus in
Stuttgart and decided to form their double
act, DUO INSPIRATION. Since then, the
unique blend of their respective arts has
thrilled audiences in numerous shows in
western and eastern Europe. They and

Trucks in Action
In der Automechanika Frankfurt steckt bekanntlich jede
Menge technische „Truck Competence“, doch auch die
schöne und die schnelle Seite der Nutfahrzeuge kommt
auf dem Messegelände nicht zu kurz. Auf der Agora
und den Freiflächen vor den Hallen 4, 5 und 11 stehen
viele attraktive Trail-, Race- und Promotiontrucks. Außerdem haben ein paar Hot Rods und auch Oldtimer den
Weg auf das Messegelände gefunden.
Der Renntruck von Schwabentruck Racing
mit 13-Liter-Turbomotor leistet rund 1.150
PS und wiegt 5,5 Tonnen. Damit wäre eine
Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 220 km/h
möglich, im Rennen dürfen die Trucks aber
nur maximal 160 km/h schnell fahren.
Automechanika Frankfurt is known for its technical
Truck Competence, but there is also no shortage of visually stunning, high-speed trucks on the trade fair
grounds, too. There is a host of fantastic-looking trail,
racing and promotional trucks on display on the Agora
and the outdoor exhibition areas in front of Halls 4, 5
and 11. A few hot rods and some vintage cars have
made their way onto the exhibition grounds as well.

The racing truck from Schwabentruck Racing with a 13-litre turbocharged engine
provides around 1,134 hp (1,150 PS) and
tips the scales at 5.5 tonnes. A top speed
of 137 mph is possible in theory, but trucks
are only allowed to race at 99 mph maximum.
