Located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur’s Lake Garden, the KL Bird
park is only five minute drive away from our Duta Vista Executive Suites. It
is the home to more than 2000 birds of approximately 200 species. With its
unique free-flight concept, the birds are able to breed naturally in the semi
natured environment.

It has been three months since 2008 left us. The Touche’s editorial board wishes to convey our humble apologies for
the delay of our 2009’s 1st Edition.
Things happen for a reason yet we are not going to look back. This is a moment to move on. As for such, we are
coming out with our Super-liking Issue, and yes, it is a combination of both the 1st and the 2nd Quarter of 2009.
We will talk about what have we been doing for the past six months and what are we going to do for the next six
months to come.
We are going to alert our valued Members on the best holiday destinations. We are going to emphasize on the
suitable traveling dates. We are definitely going to promote our holiday partners through our Friends of Tanco.
We are going to spread the news about our Members’ Nite 2009. We are going to go a step further with our Charity
Drive. We are going to sweat our Members to a healthy physique. We are going to make our members glowingly
beautiful. Pamper your soul and you’ll be pampered accordingly.

The KL Bird Park was set up in 1991 and was
officially opened by The DYMM Raja Permaisuri
Agong, Tuanku Bainun.
Located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur
Lake Gardens, it is only 10 minutes drive away
from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. It is the
home to more than 2,000 birds of approximately
200 species of local and foreign birds.
Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres of verdant
valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 zones;
Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone; Zone
3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the
birds are placed in separate cages and mini
aviaries.

in the world having the body size of a turkey. Or if you are lucky
enough, you will have the chance to see how Yellow-billed Storks
gather fallen twigs to build nests in their nesting colonies, and last but
not least, doves, egrets and ibises feeding joyfully at the various
feeding points.

A: The Identity Card and Membership card will be checked for identification purposes.
This is necessary to avoid any misuse by unauthorized person from checking-in under your

Q: If my points are not utilised within the anniversary year, will the points be forfeited?
A: Yes, points not utilised will be forfeited upon expiration of the current anniversary year.
Therefore, you are encouraged to plan your holidays in advance to ensure that your points are
fully utilised.
Q: What is anniversary fee?
A: The anniversary fee, or maintenance fee is the sum payable by members which is used to
provide and maintain the accommodation, the facilities and amenities at the resorts.

Towns of Cameron Highlands

Amidst the greenery and serene farms and nurseries are three main townships that outline the landscape of
Cameron Highlands known as Brinchang, Ringlet and the Tanah Rata. Coming up from Tapah, it will be
about an hour's drive away where you will be welcomed by the town of Ringlet. The preceding towns of
Tanah Rata and Brinchang are most vibrant. From Ringlet, the next town Tanah Rata is about 13 kilometers
away while 3 kilometers further from Tanah Rata is where you will reach Brinchang.
Ringlet
is renowned for its commercial and
trading activities in Cameron Highland. The town is
a small and sleepy town which is more peaceful as
compared to the other two. Even if that is so, Ringlet
houses its own attractions although that is very
much limited.
The small town, elevated about 1,200 meters is
typically warmer than the other two towns. There are
a few rows of shops in Ringlet, which closes at night
fall and some other shops around here like a petrol
station(Petronas and Shell), some food outlets and
convenience stores. Essentially, tourists do not stay
around here as it is quite far away from the
attractions further up the highlands.

Since it is located about 13 kilometers from the next
town of Tanah Rata, you will have to take either a
taxi or a bus to get there, where the activities
congregate. To say the least, Ringlet is a typical
residential town just like any Malaysian town and is a
great place for a short driving rest or just for a short
break. Ringlet houses some vegetable and fruit
farms, which are the main produce here.
A further drive up the highlands will get you to Tanah
Rata. The administrative town houses more offices
and is a more commercial center compared to
Ringlet. The District Council's office is located here
together with a post office, the general hospital and
some local government offices as well.

Tanah Rata
is where most visitors are likely to stay as it has a variety of accommodation options here. Families tend to come
here and rent an apartment where they can cook and have gatherings. Tanah Rata is also the main transport depot
of Cameron Highlands. This means that if you are coming by bus or taxi, it will stop at the main bus station which is
also where you will board when you leave the highlands. Tanah Rata is also known to be one of the most tourist
friendly areas in Cameron Highlands.
There are souvenir shops, banks and eateries, all at arm's length.
For the adventurous, head out to the jungle tracks that goes to the
Robinson Waterfalls. Travel agents, budget hotels and money
changers are abundantly scattered here to cater for tourists who
come here. Tanah Rata is often the starting point if you want to
visit the nearby strawberry, tea or flower farms. Day trips can be
arranged from here.
Brinchang
The next town is perhaps the biggest among the three, which is the main attraction in Cameron Highlands. To a
certain extent, food might cost slightly more as the town is known for its eateries.
Brinchang is busier and exudes a more commercial atmosphere most
probably because it is the connection point to the nearby farms and
plantation. Located about 3 kilometers from Tanah Rata, Brinchang too has
a lot of accommodations options like hotels, chalets and apartments,
including Rosa Passedana one of our FOT.

check out the Cameron night market (Pasar Malam) here where you will are able to get fresh Cameron
grown vegetables and flower produce from the abundantly available plantations in Cameron. Local
Cameron Highlands craft and clothing are also available, otherwise take the opportunity to try the local
delicacies here.

Kelab Tasik Putrajaya is one and only boat club
built in Malaysia. The club with its tranquil setting in the
middle of the administrative city is widely recognized as
the premier watersport facility in the country. It operates
year round including public holidays with available
facilities which include full service restaurant and cafe,
swimming pool, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and rowing
equipment and program. The club has a very active
water sport courses and all members are committed to
escalate the club as the premier water sport program in
the country.
Kelab Tasik Putrajaya is located at the lakeside of Precinct 8, Putrajaya overlooking the Prime Minister
Office and the towering Putrajaya Mosque. Today the club serves its active and diverse memberships needs
by providing club programs, events and facilities that have earned the respect as being the leading water sport
club in the country. The club has more than one thousand strong members consisting individuals and
corporate entities. In addition to the striking views offered from the restaurant, the club has the finest water
sport equipment and boats for recreational use. The clubhouse opens 7 days a week from 10.00 am until
10:00pm. Members can enjoy the many dining services offered in addition to the many formal social events
that the club is known for hosting.

PARKING ISSUE AT MAR VISTA, PENANG
We wish to advise that the parking issue at Mar Vista, Penang is still pending, awaiting further
reply and action from FAL Berhad, the legal owner of the four units there.
Henceforth, we wish to remind ALL members again who have confirmed their reservations that
they do not have any permission to enter and park their vehicles in the Mar Vista vicinity. All
non-residents of Mar Vista Apartment can only park their vehicles at the allotted parking bays
outside the Mar Vista’s entrance.
We apologize for any inconveniences arise and members are encourage to contact us for other
vacation arrangement, if any.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Duta Puri Island Resort, Pulau Kapas is CLOSED for
