General Overview
Located on the campus of Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Advocate
Hope Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric medical facility in Chicago’s south and
southwest suburbs. The 69-bed institution is staffed with more than 200 physicians in
30 specialties and subspecialties, including neonatology, developmental medicine, surgery,
cardiology, hematology/oncology, genetics, endocrinology, adolescent medicine, critical
care, neurology, gastroenterology and behavioral disorders.
Pioneers in Pediatric Treatments
Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital offers a unique approach to patient care and continues to
develop innovative treatment procedures to address the most critical conditions and diseases.
• Neonatal intensive care unit treats nearly 400 premature and seriously ill infants each year.
• Pediatric cardiology program is one of the largest in Illinois and we are home to The
Heart Institute for Children (THIC), a national center for research and development.
• Pediatric cardiac surgery team is internationally noted for pioneering advances in the
diagnosis and treatment of pediatric heart disease, including hypoplasia of the right
ventricle and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• State-of-the-art Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center is one of the largest outpatient
pediatric cancer programs in the Chicagoland area, treating as many as 70 new patients
annually.
• The Pediatric Oncology Survivorship in Transition (POST) clinic at Hope Children’s Hospital
is one of the most extensive pediatric cancer survivor support programs in the country.
• Children’s rehabilitation unit is the only acute rehabilitation program located within a
children’s hospital.
• One of few medical centers in Chicagoland dedicated to providing pediatric neurology
services and offers individualized care to young patients in diagnosing and treating
pediatric epilepsy and other neurological conditions.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana to open a
Ronald McDonald House across the street from Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in
December 2008.
