The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides direction
of care for pediatric inpatients within the unit as well as
clinical coverage for outpatients. Responsibilities include
performing comprehensive diagnosis, intervention,
management, referral and evaluation through
continuum of services. The incumbent will be expected
to contribute as required to development of policy,
procedure and support clinical research in the context of
best practice and family centered care.
REQUIREMENTS
The NP works primarily at the Glenrose Rehabilitation
Hospital (GRH) with consultative services provided to
the Stollery Children’s Hospital as part of the Pediatric
Rehabilitation Medicine Consultation Service. Unit 201
is a 10-bed tertiary Pediatric Intensive Rehabilitation
Inpatient care program for children with disabilities from
cerebral palsy, acquired brain injuries, multiple trauma
and other orthopedic disorders.
•BCLS-HCP certification required.
•Masters degree in Nursing Advanced Practice required
with previous NP experience or Rehabilitation
experience preferred.
•Minimum of 5 year work experience in
pediatric nursing.
•Eligible to be registered with the College and
Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) as
a Pediatric Practitioner.
