Expands to Offer Summer Travelers More Choices
ANGEL FIRE RESORT is a top yearround mountain resort destination
in New Mexico that is situated at
over 8,600’ elevation in the Southern Rocky Mountains. It strives to
offer the best value and choice for
family outdoor recreation activities
to its members, guests and visitors
– including skiing, snowboarding,
golf, mountain biking, tennis, fishing,
hiking and more.
The resort has recently completed
a series of expansions for summer
travelers. A new state-of-the-art RV
Resort offers guests a scenic 35-acre
location to camp and play. Additionally, the resort’s popular Bike Park,
ranked the #1 Bike Park in the Southwest for the second year in a row, has
nearly doubled its trail access to over
100 miles. The resort is also home to
New Mexico’s largest zipline tour, an
18-hole championship golf course,
and a mountain lodge conveniently
located in the heart of Angel Fire
Resort’s base area. Monte Verde Lake,
just a few minutes from the resort,
is a scenic place to fish with family,
boat or relax on the shore. The lake is
stocked with rainbow trout throughout the summer. Fishing equipment,
bait and paddle boats are available.
The Angel Fire luxury RV Resort
was constructed on mountain meadowland at the foot of Carson National

Forest. It opened with 102 RV spaces
but that will eventually grow to 325.
It boasts a well-appointed private
clubhouse, paved roads, fully concreted, over-sized spaces with easy
pull-through access and 30/50-amp
electrical pedestals, DirecTV access,
bathrooms, showers and laundry
facilities, convenient Wi-Fi access,
Jacuzzi, a putting green, horseshoes,
a dog park and more.
Offering the longest season in the
Rockies, Angel Fire’s award-winning
bike park, has been named the #1 Bike
Park in the Southwest by readers of
MTBParks.com and Decline Magazine
for the second year in a row. he Bike
Park continues to expand its trails system every year making it the largest
lift served downhill bike park in the
Rocky Mountains. The park will also
expand its new blue trail, Devinci’s
Code, by two additional miles and
bike carriers have been added to the
Chile Express chairlift for an easier
transport to the summit.
The resort is continuing to improve
on its ever-popular Rocky Mountain
Zipline Adventure Tour, which takes
thrill-seekers through multiple zipline
stages at the summit. The adventure
begins with an introductory zipline of
only 120’ and works up to the signature dual lines, which carries guests
on a 1,600’ cable 200’ above the forest floor. Guests must weigh 90-250
pounds to ride the zipline. The tour is
the second highest elevation zipline
tour in the United States and the largest in New Mexico. The six-segment
tour opened in 2012 and has been so
popular that the resort is now adding additional early-morning tour
times to give adrenaline seekers
more opportunity to fly high above
the forest floor.
Situated at 8,600’ elevation, Angel
Fire Resort’s high-altitude, 18-hole
Championship golf course offers
affordable play to guests. Winding
through two unspoiled canyons of aspen and spruce high up in the Sangre
de Cristo Mountains, the course’s high
elevation provides golfers relief from
the summer heat and extra distance
on their drives. The signature 6th hole
features a tee box soaring 200 vertical feet above the green.
Located at Olympic Park just
south of the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort on Highway 434, the Angel Fire
Resort Tennis Center includes six hard
courts for use by Resort members,
guests and visitors to the Moreno
Valley. Clinics, lessons, tournaments
and weekly play are available and
start in June.
The Lodge at Angel Fire Resort is
located at the base of the mountain
and has undergone a large makeover.
All 120 rooms are family-friendly,
offering larger than normal size, and
over 40 rooms were recently renovated with updated amenities. The
lodge offers several dining options, including The Lift and Legends, as well
as free Wi-Fi, indoor pool, hot tub and
fitness center. In addition to the lodge,
condos and private homes are also
available.
