Half Linen Stitch Scarf in Nakuru Designed by Kristi Porter for Curious Creek Fibers This scarf is knit in two colors of Curious Creek Fibers' Nakuru. Almost any two colors of our yarn can combine in this scarf to make a sumptuous, color-rich woven texture that is surprisingly easy to knit. One skein of each colorway will make a narrow 42” long scarf without fringe. We suggest using two of each color for flexibility in sizing and fringe. Materials CCF Nakuru (55% Mohair, 45% Merino Wool); 72 yds per 50g 2 skeins each in two colorways 1 set—US #10-15 needles depending on the fabric you want to achieve. Crochet hook or yarn needle for adding fringe. Abbreviations: Sl 1 WYIF = Slip one stitch with the yarn in front. Bring yarn to front between stitches, slip 1 stitch purlwise, return yarn to back of work. PATTERN With A: CO 21 sts. Next Row: With A, [K1, P1] across, end K1. Next Row: With B, [K1, P1] across, end K1. Next Row: With B, [K1, P1] across, end K1. Row 1: With A, K1, P1, K1, [Sl 1 WYIF, K1] to last 4 sts, Sl 1 WYIF, K1, P1, K1. Row 2: With A, K1, P1, K1, purl across to last 3 stitches, K1, P1, K1. Row 3: With B, K1, P1, K2, [Sl 1 WYIF, K1] to last 3 sts, K1, P1, K1. Row 4: With B, K1, P1, K1, purl across to last 3 stitches, K1, P1, K1. Repeat these 4 rows until scarf measures 65 inches or desired length, ending with Row 2. Bind off all stitches. Sizes: 5” W by 66”long without fringe (enough yarn to be as long as 80 inches) with two skeins of each colorway 5” W x 40” long with one skein of each colorway For Fringe: Cut 22 pieces of yarn 8- inches long from A and 22 pieces of yarn 8- inches long from B. Taking one piece of A and one piece of B together, double over and pull through every other stitch to create fringe along cast-on and bound-off edges.
