serre chevalier Vallée,
a huge ski area
with 250km of Pistes
With 1.3 million skiing days in 2011-12 and thanks to its 250km of pistes,
Serre Chevalier is one of the largest ski areas in France in terms of visitor numbers.
It is also France’s largest ski resort not connected to other resorts.
Serre Chevalier Vallée is a village-resort in the Hautes-Alpes that is blessed with exceptional weather.
Lying on the border between the départements of Les Hautes-Alpes, Isère and Savoie, Serre Chevalier Vallée
is a mountain village resort dedicated to great skiing and well-being. The resort comprises three typical Alpine
villages (Le Monêtier les Bains, Villeneuve-La Salle, Chantemerle-Saint Chaffrey), 13 hamlets and Briançon,
a town inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage List for its Vauban fortifications.
The summits of the mountains here reach altitudes of 2800m with 80% of the ski area lying at altitudes
of over 2000m, giving great skiing conditions on natural snow from mid-December to mid-April.
