All who attend are encouraged to bring photos, mementos, special items, etc. that

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Halloween Party Help
Many of you look forward to the parties at First Unitarian as a great time for family fun and socializing with your church community. Please help us make this another successful party by volunteering to do a 45 minute shift at a game or craft
table. Volunteers are also needed for clean up. Sign up on the website
(ucdsm.org). We appreciate your help!
October is Caring Ministry Month!
Each week we will focus on the Caring Ministry program at First Unitarian. This
Sunday, there will be a spotlight on Caring Ministry in each service. We will also
have our table set up between services..
Board Forums on Staff Salary Privacy
The Board of Trustees will be holding open forums for the purpose of hearing
views of church members on the issue of whether or not staff salaries should be
kept private. These will be moderated forums, with time limits for each speaker,
and will allow input from all who wish to speak.
The Board feels that it has yet to hear any compelling reason that would outweigh
the importance of maintaining employee privacy. We are hoping to hear compelling reasons, pro and con, as seen by both members and staff. At a future board
meeting, the Board will consider all input and re-evaluate its decision to maintain
salary privacy.
There will be two forums, open to all (including staff), so we hope many of you
will be able to attend one or the other:
Thursday, November 6, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, November 9, 11:00 a.m.
Both forums will take place in Channing Hall and will last one hour.

People: We gather in community to celebrate
the glories and the mysteries of this great gift.

become.
