Halloween Party Coming Soon!
The All-Church Halloween Party will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6-8 pm.
Please mark this fun-filled event on your calendar. We will have games, crafts,
music and a haunted house. Please bring a dish to share for the potluck. Costumes are encouraged for all, but not required.
October is Caring Ministry Month!
Each week we will focus on the Caring Ministry program at First Unitarian. This
Sunday, come to the Caring Ministry table to learn more about the caring associate program. Also learn more about the Caring Ministry program.

Humanist Book Discussion Group (1st & 3rd Wednesday, 6:45-8 pm, beginning
Oct. 1) Open to all ‘free-thinkers’ who want to explore and discuss various secular
-based books. Facilitator Bob Henderson has chosen the first book. After that,
the group will vote on books. The first book is The Righteous Mind, Why Good People
Are Divided by Politics and Religion by Jonathan Haidt. There is a limit of 16 people
for this class.
Long Strange Trip—UU History Film Series (Sundays, 9-10:30 am, Oct. 19-Nov.
23) This film series details the history of Unitarian and Universalist thought from
the beginning of the Christian era to what we know today as Unitarian Universalism. An excellent learning opportunity for new UUs and life-long UUs. Each film
in the series is approximately one hour in length. We will have a thirty minute
discussion after each film. They are close captioned.
UU Outdoor Enthusiasts Cross-Country Trip
Go north January 29—February 1, 2015 for a weekend of cross-country skiing at
the wonderful Maplelag Resort in northern Minnesota. Initial deposit of $100/
