The Sisters of Providence Health System is pleased to welcome nineteen physician members, as well as physician assistants, nurse
practitioners and staff members formerly with Hampden County Physician Associates (HCPA) to Mercy Medical Group, a multi-specialty
group of physicians who practice throughout the Pioneer Valley. Plans are for these providers to continue practicing at the former HCPA
Springfield, East Longmeadow, Feeding Hills and Ludlow locations (see list of providers and locations below).
Mercy Medical Group recognizes the importance of retaining established primary care physicians and remains committed to adding
additional primary care physicians to improve access to clinical services in the local community. Despite HCPA’s financial difficulties that
resulted in its closure, this seamless transition is in the best interest of patient care because it allows patients of the former HCPA to continue
to receive care without interruption. Patients will also benefit from enhanced patient care services through Mercy’s continuum of care options.
