Bakerview’s 50th Anniversary Missions Project After considering several options the Mission Board recommended to Church Council that we partner with Inner Hope Ministries (Jenny Shantz) and Reality Church, Vancouver (Kristian Martens, Pastor). Church Council has agreed and is inviting us to support in the following ways: 1) A $15,000 gift to Reality Church for renovating their youth centre and building a children's playground. Reality Church was planted 5 years ago in East Vancouver. They have recently been able to lease a church facility across the street from the school facility they have been meeting in. The building needs updating and minor renovations are being carried out for a total projected cost of $40,000. The congregation of almost 200 have pledged $25,000 toward the renovations. Church Council has agreed that in honour of our 50 years of ministry we should provide the remaining $15,000. A special offering will be taken on December 28th. Please mark your donation “50th Anniversary Project.” 2) Church Council and the Mission Board are also recommending a 5 year additional $20,000 annual commitment to Inner Hope Ministries to appoint a Community Life Coordinator. This amount covers half the budget for Inner Hope's Community Life program. The position is intended to strengthen the discipleship component of Inner Hope's ministry to inner city youth and help incorporate the youth into the life of Reality Church. This portion of the project will be discussed at a church membership meeting requiring congregational approval before being incorporated in the church's mission budget beginning in fiscal year 2015/16. If you have questions please speak with a Church Council or Mission Board member. What’s happening in our Community... Pacific Theatre is proud to present Underneath the Lintel.
