If you’re at least 18 years of age, a First Trust Credit Union
member in good standing, and are interested in helping shape
the future of First Trust Credit Union, consider nominating
yourself for election to the Board. Interested persons must
file a petition with the signatures of 125 First Trust Credit
Union member/owners, and file it with the Nominating
Chairperson, Linda Bechinski, by February 21, 2015. To

2305. A summary of biographical information including your
employer, position held, member account number, and brief
statement of qualifications must accompany your petition.

Del Lonzo $1,000 Memorial Scholarship
and Virginia Stevens $1,000 Memorial

First Trust Credit Union announces the availability of two $1,000 scholarships.
A
$1,000 scholarship will once again be awarded in honor of Del Lonzo, a Michigan City
high school teacher and long term member of the First Trust Credit Union Board of
Directors. The award will be made to a graduating high school
senior who is a member, or child of a member of First Trust Credit
Union, who will be pursuing a four year degree. Selection will be
based on the student’s grade point average, community involvement,
a recommendation letter from a teacher, and a student essay.

An additional $1,000 will be awarded in fond memory of founding
member, Virginia Stevens. The memorial scholarship will be awarded
to a graduating high school senior, GED recipient, or a home school
graduate, who will be pursuing an associate degree, certification, or
licensing in a specialized field such as auto mechanics, cosmetology,
dental assistant, CDL, etc. The award will also be made to a member or child of a
member of First Trust Credit Union, and will be based on the student’s commitment
and drive for the selected profession, and their essay. Applications for either scholarship can be picked up at high school guidance offices, at any First Trust office, or
online under scholarship information at www.firsttrustcu.com. Deadline for submission will be February 20, 2015. The scholarships will be announced in April, and will be
awarded at the winning applicant’s school during their annual awards program.

55th Annual Meeting
On Saturday, April 11, 2015, First Trust Credit
Union will celebrate 55 years of credit union
history! A wide variety of hot and cold hors
d’oeuvres will be available. A nominal charge of
$5 per person will be assessed. This year’s
annual meeting will be held in the Caroline Room,
at the Strongbow Restaurant, 2405 E. U.S.
Highway 30 Valparaiso. More detailed information
will be forthcoming at your local branch.
