St. Patrick’s Day Ireland is a relatively small island about the size of Indiana. It has a generally mild but rainy climate all year round which gives the country its green vegetation and its nickname, the “Emerald Isle”.The Irish people are a blend of blonde Celts, redhaired Danes and Norsemen, and brown haired French Normans. The people speak both English and Gaelic, and both languages are taught in schools. Ireland is famous for its legend of St. Patrick which claims he charmed all the snakes so they went into the sea and drowned, thus ridding the country of snakes forever.
