Service Enhancements due to the Enhanced Pre-trade Checking Model

To facilitate Custodian Participants and General Clearing Participants which are not Exchange Participants
(non-EP GCPs) to practice their operations under the Enhanced Pre-trade Checking Model with the
relevant new CCASS service schedule and enhancements, HKSCC will arrange an optional Clearing
Practice Session (CPS) on 21 March 2015 (Saturday) as follows:

Major CPS Activities
Simulate T-day clearing and settlement process for
Shanghai-A share market, following the new CCASS
service schedule.
Interested Custodian Participants and non-EP GCPs are required to complete and return the attached
Enrolment Form (Attachment 1) to Clearing Support Services of HKEx, on or before 10 March 2015
(Tuesday). In order to simulate the execution of Special Segregated Account (SPSA) sell orders and
subsequent Settlement Instruction submission to complete the T-day CNS settlement, Custodian
Participants and non-EP GCPs must make prior arrangement with the selected execution broker and
provide the information in the Enrolment Form. Other CCASS Participants can also participate the CPS
to get familiar with the new CCASS service schedule and enhancements without the need to register.
CPS Information Package for CCASS Participants will be available on Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock
Connect Corner (http://www.hkex.com.hk/chinaconnect) on 4 March 2015 (Wednesday).
Please note that normal CCASS online services will be suspended on 21 March 2015 and CCASS
production reports will only be available on the following Monday. Participants should inform its
relevant IT support or BOS vendor about this arrangement for necessary preparation.
A separate circular will be issued by HKSCC to inform the market regarding the official launch date of
the Enhanced Pre-trade Checking Model and the relevant new CCASS service schedule and

In order to be able to simulate the execution of SPSA sell orders, upon request below, HKSCC will set up one designated EP for the
SPSA prior to the CPS. Relevant contact persons will be informed of such SPSA number and Investor ID via email. Pre-defined stock
balances in the SPSA are stated in the information package of the CPS.
