SATURDAY 11TH OCTOBER:
OFFSHORE CHALLENGE
That was indeed a challenge!
Downpours during the night left us with little wind and big threatening black clouds.
Going to Fairway was pretty easy (thanks to the tide) but coming back was a challenge, as the
tide turned to flood later than scheduled.
Tarkwa never seemed that far for many.
We were 24 boats on the water with 8 finishers.
Results:
Hobies (11 H16 – 7 finishers):
1st: H16 114296 Billy Whizz: LIoyd Crisp & Claire Marion
2nd: H16 114251 Fire Fly: Anco Scholte ter Horst & George
3rd: H16 112228 Blo Jib: Martin Thomle & Boma Andrew-Jaja
Lightnings (8 – 1 finisher):
1st: LI T60 ”Otitan Dara”: Paul Diefenthaler, Keith Ballay & Graham Gips
Mixed MonoHulls (5 Tarpons – no finisher)
For recognition of the efforts of the ones who tried, some prizes were given for the ones who
nearly made it
Lighnings
2nd: LI 15325 Easy Life: Richard Leek, Ed Skene & Kristian Gips
